The Baltimore Ravens secured one of the NFL’s rising stars for the long term, agreeing to a four-year, $140 million contract extension with wide receiver Zay Flowers.
The deal includes $108 million in guaranteed money, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, making Flowers the highest-paid wide receiver in franchise history. His new contract also ties him with Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson for the fourth-highest average annual salary among NFL wide receivers at $35 million per season.
Flowers, who turns 26 next month, is now under contract with Baltimore through the 2031 season.
Flowers Earns Massive Payday After Breakout Seasons
The Ravens selected Flowers with the 22nd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, and he has quickly developed into quarterback Lamar Jackson’s most dependable receiving target.
After becoming the first wide receiver in franchise history to earn a Pro Bowl selection in 2024, Flowers followed it up with another Pro Bowl campaign in 2025. He posted career highs with 86 receptions and 1,211 receiving yards, accounting for nearly 37% of Baltimore’s receiving production last season.
No other Ravens wide receiver surpassed 25 catches or 400 receiving yards during the 2025 campaign, highlighting Flowers’ importance to the offense.
His strong connection with Jackson has extended beyond game days, with Flowers regularly joining the two-time MVP for early morning offseason workouts.
Ravens Lock Up Offensive Cornerstone
Baltimore had already exercised Flowers’ fifth-year option earlier this offseason, but both sides expressed confidence that a long-term agreement would eventually get done.
General manager Eric DeCosta praised the receiver after the extension became official.
“Zay is the type of player we always seek to retain. Tough, competitive, durable, a premier talent and a foundational football player.”
Head coach Jesse Minter also celebrated the agreement, calling it a great day for the organization and noting that players who consistently perform while displaying strong character deserve to be rewarded.
Ravens Turn Attention to Lamar Jackson’s Extension
With Flowers’ contract finalized, the Ravens can now focus on another major priority—working toward a new deal for Jackson.
The two-time NFL MVP still has two seasons remaining on his current contract, but Baltimore has already indicated that extending its franchise quarterback remains high on the organization’s offseason agenda.
Through his first three NFL seasons, Flowers has totaled 237 receptions for 3,128 receiving yards and established himself as one of the league’s premier young receivers, giving the Ravens confidence that one of Jackson’s favorite targets will remain in Baltimore for years to come.
