Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star Jalen Williams suffered a serious lower left leg injury during Sunday night’s 108-101 win over the Los Angeles Clippers and left the court on a stretcher.

Williams went down with 1:14 remaining in the fourth quarter after driving toward the basket and drawing contact from Clippers defenders. His left leg folded awkwardly as he landed, prompting medical personnel to rush onto the court.

The Thunder covered his lower leg with a towel while players from both teams watched in shock. Oklahoma City guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander appeared emotional as medical staff attended to his teammate.

Williams was eventually placed on a stretcher and wheeled off the court to a standing ovation. He gave the crowd two thumbs-up as he left the floor. The game paused for approximately five minutes before Oklahoma City completed the victory.

The Thunder have not announced a diagnosis or recovery timeline. Head coach Mark Daigneault said the team would receive further information Monday morning.

“We’re not doing great,” Daigneault said after the game.

Gilgeous-Alexander Reacts to Williams’ Injury

Gilgeous-Alexander struggled to contain his emotions while discussing Williams during his postgame television interview.

“Just feel bad for him,” Gilgeous-Alexander said. “Nothing more than that.”

The reigning MVP acknowledged that losing Williams would make the Thunder’s title defense more difficult but expressed confidence in his teammate’s ability to recover.

“It’s obviously going to be tough without a player like that,” Gilgeous-Alexander said. “But he’s not gone forever. He’ll be back better than ever, and we know it. We’ve just got to hold the fort down until he comes back.”

Williams has developed into one of Oklahoma City’s most important players since entering the NBA. He earned All-Star and All-NBA honors and played a major role in the Thunder’s 2025 NBA championship.

Thunder Face Another Injury Setback

Williams’ injury comes after he missed 49 games last season while dealing with multiple issues, including recurring hamstring problems and rehabilitation from significant surgery on his right wrist. He appeared in only 33 games, a career low, as Oklahoma City managed his recovery.

The Thunder will now await further medical updates while preparing for their next game against the Phoenix Suns on Monday night.

Oklahoma City also lost guard Cason Wallace to left shoulder soreness and forward Jaylin Williams to right wrist soreness during the first quarter of Sunday’s game. Neither player returned.

The extent of Jalen Williams’ injury remains unknown, leaving the Thunder facing an uncertain wait for information about one of their key players as they pursue another championship.
