The New Orleans Saints added an intriguing rookie prospect following minicamp, signing wide receiver Brock Rechsteiner to the team’s 90-man roster.
Rechsteiner, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner, earned the opportunity after participating in the Saints’ rookie minicamp on a tryout basis.
The former Jacksonville State Gamecocks football receiver entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent and previously attended rookie minicamp with the Tennessee Titans before landing in New Orleans.
Rechsteiner Putting Wrestling Future on Hold
Despite his family’s legendary wrestling background, Rechsteiner said football remains his primary focus for now.
“I want to play football as long as I can,” Rechsteiner said after signing with the Saints.
Rechsteiner signed an NIL agreement with WWE in 2025 as part of the company’s Next In Line program, leaving the door open for a future in professional wrestling once his football career concludes.
His cousin, Bron Breakker, followed a similar path after spending time with the Baltimore Ravens during training camp in 2020 before transitioning into WWE.
Scott Steiner and his brother Rick Steiner, known collectively as the Steiner Brothers, were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2022 and remain one of wrestling’s most iconic tag teams.
Saints Continue Adding Young Receivers
Rechsteiner now joins a revamped Saints receiver room that includes first-round rookie Jordyn Tyson, fourth-round selection Bryce Lance and sixth-round pick Barion Brown.
During his collegiate career at Jacksonville State, Rechsteiner totaled 53 receptions for 629 yards and seven touchdowns across three seasons. His best campaign came in 2025 when he recorded 36 catches for 383 yards and five scores.
Listed at 6-foot-1 and 222 pounds, Rechsteiner also impressed evaluators with his physicality as a blocker and his special teams value. He reportedly posted a 4.48-second 40-yard dash time during the pre-draft process.
The Saints continue evaluating depth at wide receiver behind Chris Olave as training camp approaches later this summer.
