New York Rangers Rookie Camp begins tomorrow, September 13, which means that hockey is right around the corner.

As is the case with every team prior to the season, the Rangers have announced their roster of players reporting to Rookie Camp. This list of prospects consists of young players in the team’s farm system who will have a chance to show what they’ve got. It essentially acts as Spring Training, but for the NHL.

Schedule

The Rangers will begin Rookie Camp on September 13, and will conclude on the 19th. They will play two games at the MSG Practice Center on the 13th and 14th. Then, they’ll play two games against the Flyers in Allentown, PA on the 15th and 16th. Rookie Camp will conclude with another practice game at the MSG practice center on the 19th, with the 17th and 18th being off days.

The Rangers’ 2023 Rookie Camp will feature 24 players in total, with 14 forwards, seven defensemen, and three goaltenders. Notable names include prized prospect Brennam Othmann, as well as James Petrovski and Matthew Robertson, among others. Notable Rangers prospect Will Cuylle is not on the list, which may be promising as he saw some playing time in the big leagues last season, and has possibly made the NHL roster.

Gabriel Perreault, the team’s 2023 first-round draft pick, is already committed to playing hockey at Boston College this fall. He is therefore absent from the list and will most likely make his debut next season.

The Rangers look to have a bounce-back year after being bounced themselves early in the playoffs last year. With some notable moves in free agency this offseason, as well as locking up some core players to contracts, the Rangers are in full push mode this season as their race to the Stanley Cup begins October 12 in Buffalo.
