Next up in the draft process is the Purdue Pro Day. This is when players can get one more chance to show off their skills to NFL scouts. This is even more important for players who did not receive an NFL Scouting Combine invitation. The Purdue Pro Day will take place on March 7th.

Purdue Pro Day Information

As of now, ten players are participating in the Purdue Pro Day. This can change, but according to On3, these are the players that will participate. Here is a look at each player and what their draft projection is. The players will be organized by their position.

Tyrone Tracy Jr. – WR

Tyrone Tracy Jr. is the top prospect coming out of Purdue this year. He spent four seasons with Iowa before spending the last two with Purdue. In his collegiate career, he has had 146 rushing attempts for 947 yards and ten touchdowns, according to Sports Reference. He has also had 113 receptions for 1,201 yards and five touchdowns.

Having experience playing both wide receiver and running back makes him a dual threat heading into the 2024 NFL Draft. His draft projection is currently in the fourth round. He was the only Boilermaker to be invited to the 2024 NFL Combine, and now he will get another chance to impress NFL scouts.

Ben Farrell – OL

Offensive lineman, Ben Farrell is another player to expect at the Purdue Pro Day. Farrell spent five seasons playing collegiate football. He began with Cornerstone University for one year then played with Indiana Wesleyan for three years. His final season was with Purdue in 2023.

Farrell may not have gotten the chance to attend the combine, but he can showcase his abilities for scouts and potentially earn himself a chance to be taken by an NFL team. His current draft projection is an undrafted free agent, but he can use this chance to get to meet team scouts and increase his chances.

Daniel Johnson – OL

Daniel Johnson is another offensive lineman coming out of Purdue this year. The expectation is that he will participate in the Purdue Pro Day in a couple of days. Johnson has played collegiate football for six years, spending four years at Kent State and two years with the Boilermakers.

Similarly to Farrell, Johnson did not receive an invite to the Combine. This will also be his chance to get to interact with scouts and show why he should be on an NFL team. Johnson’s draft projection is as an undrafted free agent.

Preston Nichols – OL

Preston is the third and final offensive lineman who is expected to participate in the Purdue Pro Day. Nichols spent six years playing college football, four with Charleston Southern, one with UNLV, and his final one with Purdue.

Nichols has had a ton of playing time in his career, but like the others, did not get an invite to the combine. This will be his chance to show off his footwork and get to know NFL scouts. Nichols’ draft projection for 2024 is as an undrafted free agent.

Malik Langham – DL

There will be a couple of defensive players participating in the Purdue Pro Day including defensive lineman, Malik Langham. Langham has spent six years playing collegiate football. His first year was with Florida, followed by three years at Vanderbilt and one year with Purdue. In his six seasons, Langham has had 53 total tackles, 25 solo, and 3.5 tackles for loss, according to Sports Reference. He has also had two sacks and one fumble recovery for a touchdown.

As of now, Langham’s draft projection has him going as an undrafted free agent. This will be his chance to show scouts why he could sneak into the seventh round of the draft. Langham will get a chance to show off his skills for NFL teams one more time in a couple of days.

Cam Allen – S

Cam Allen is one of the two safeties that will participate in the 2024 Purdue Pro Day. Allen has spent all five seasons of his collegiate career with the Boilermakers. In those five seasons, Allen had 203 total tackles, 157 solo, and eight tackles for loss, according to Sports Reference. He also totaled 13 interceptions, one for a touchdown, 18 passes defended, and four fumble recoveries.

As of now, Allen’s draft projection has him going as an undrafted free agent. This Pro Day could help him jump into a 7th round. His ability to force turnovers will be a persuasive factor for teams. There is a good chance Allen is picked up on the quicker side following the draft.

Sanoussi Kane – S

Sanoussi Kane is another safety coming out of Purdue. Kane spent four years with Purdue, playing alongside Allen. In his four seasons, Kane ended up with 161 total tackles, 115 solo, 11 tackles for loss, and two sacks, according to Sports Reference. He also had ten passes defended three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

Kane is another Purdue player expected to become an undrafted free agent. He, along with his teammates, will get the opportunity to show why NFL teams should give him a chance.

Marhuis Wilson – CB

The final defender who will get a chance to participate in the Purdue Pro Day is Marhuis Wilson, cornerback. Wilson played collegiate football for five years. He spent four years with Penn State before transferring to Purdue for one season. In the five years, Wilson had 75 total tackles, 48 solo, and three tackles for loss, according to Sports Reference. He also defended ten passes and had two interceptions, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

Many teams would appreciate depth at the cornerback position. Even though Wilson is projected to be an undrafted free agent, there is a chance he gets picked up by a team. The Pro Day will give him a chance to show off his skills one more time for NFL scouts.

Jack Ansell – P

Punter Jack Ansell is expected to participate in Purdue’s Pro Day. Ansell only played three years of college football, but it was all with Purdue. Ansell punted the ball 158 times with an average of 40.4 yards per punt, according to Sports Reference. Punters do tend to fall in the draft, and Ansell’s projection is to go undrafted, but there is always a chance he can get picked up by a team. The Pro Day will allow him to get to meet with scouts and show why he should be on a future NFL roster.

Nick Taylor – LS

The final Boilermaker who is expected to participate in the Purdue Pro Day is long-snapper Nick Taylor. Taylor spent all four years playing college football with Purdue, though his playing time over the years was limited. He is expected to go undrafted but could use the Pro Day to show off his mechanics for scouts.

The Purdue Pro Day is scheduled for March 7th. After that, it’s the 2024 NFL Draft. The draft will take place April 25th-27th
