The Iowa Hawkeyes will have just one player represent them in this year’s East-West Shrine Bowl and that is Logan Lee. Lee is an interior defensive lineman and will be on the West team in this year’s bowl. The East-West Shrine Bowl will take place this Thursday, February 1st. For a full roster, click here. Here is a look at Lee’s season with the Hawkeyes, and his draft stock as of now.
Logan Lee Collegiate Career
Lee has been with the Iowa Hawkeyes since 2019, though he never saw playing time in his first year. In 2020 he played in just one game, but by 2021 his playing time increased heavily. The Hawkeyes consistently have a strong defense, and this defensive tackles is a big reason why. In 2023 Lee was unanimously voted all-conference honors on both the offense and defense, according to Hawkeyes Sports. This was his third year in a row earning the honor.
In his four years at Iowa, Lee had 158 total tackles, 58 solo, and seven passes defended, according to Sports Reference. From 2021 to 2023, Lee earned three sacks per year. He also ended up with 18.5 tackles for loss, having the most in 2022 with eight. As for turnovers, Lee recovered two fumbles.
Logan Lee Draft Stock
As of now, pre-East-West Shrine Bowl, Lee is projected to be a late-round draft pick. Fans can expect him to be a day-three pick but he can use this week’s Bowl to change those opinions. His availability throughout his time at Iowa will be a factor in his draft stock. One thing teams look at is health. He is not the top defensive lineman in the draft, but as more defensive linemen are chosen, Logan Lee’s name will be one to watch for.
