BYU Football may have had a rough season but they did have some good stats on the board at the end. Check out the top five seniors. This looks at how many games they played in, what they did for the team, and their position, and will also look at what they could do for BYU Football next season.

5. Chaz Ah You LB

Chaz Ah You is a 6-2 220 lbs senior from Saratoga Springs, Utah. In 2017 he had nine tackles. Then when he returned from his mission in 2019 he had 31 tackles, one sack, one interception, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and three pass break ups. His 2020 he had two tackles. In 2021 he had 39 tackles, one interception, one forced fumble, one quarterback, and two quarterback hits. During the 2022 season he had two tackles. This past season he suited up in four games and had four tackles.

4. Darius Lassiter WR

Darius Lassiter is a 6-3 205 lbs senior from Chandler, Arizona and a transfer from Eastern Michigan. In 2022 he played in 13 games with 40 receptions for 471 yards and four touchdowns. He played in 10 games this year. Lassiter had 29 receptions for 365 yards and four touchdowns. He will return to play a fifth year for BYU Football.

3. Eddie Heckard CB

Eddie Heckard is a 5-10 190 lbs senior from Las Vegas Nevada and a transfer from Weber State. His first season as a Wildcat he played in three games with three tackles. In 2019 he played in 15 games with 62 tackles, three sacks, three interceptions, and two fumbles. His third season he played in six games with 30 tackles, one interception, and one fumble. In 2021 he played in 11 games with 48 tackles, one interception, and four fumbles. This past season he played in all 12 games. He had 47 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, one sack, three forced fumbles, 11 pass deflections, five interceptions and one touchdown.

2. AJ Vongphachanh LB

AJ Vongphanchanh is a 6-2 230 lbs senior from Pasco, Washington and a transfer from Utah State. He had 17 tackles in his first season. In 2020 he had 50 tackles, one pass deflection, and one fumble. His third season he had 55 tackles, and one fumble recovery. During the 2022 season he had 101 tackles, three pass deflections, and two fumbles. Vongphachanh played in all 12 games this past season. He had 85 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and one pass deflection for the Cougars.

1. Max Tooley LB

Max Tooley is a 6-2 215 lbs from senior from Bountiful, Utah. Tooley’s first season he had two tackles. In his second season, he had 48 tackles, one interception, and one pass breakup. During 2020 he had 44 tackles, one interception, three quarterback hits, and one pass breakup. In his 2021 season, he had 68 tackles, one sack, one interception, and three pass breakups. During the 2022 season he had 57 tackles, one sack, three interceptions, one fumble, one quarterback hit, and one pass breakup. Tooley played in all 12 games this season and led the Cougars in tackles. He had 92 tackles, five tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, three pass deflections, and one interception.
