Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams has been fined $50,000 by the NFL, for his conduct against a doctor.

On Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Seahawks’ wide receiver Jake Bobo was hit by Bengals’ safety Dax Hill. Bobo was initially removed from the game and evaluated for a concussion by an independent concussion doctor in the medical tent on the sidelines.

While Bobo was being examined, Adams reportedly “directed verbal remarks and made inappropriate physical contact” towards the doctor. Bobo would eventually return to the game, but the Seahawks would still lose 17-13 in Cincinnati.

The unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant (UNC) was independent and not affiliated with the Seahawks team. Adams reportedly interfered with the examining process which was occurring in a medical tent on the sidelines during the game. The NFL sent Adams a letter this week saying that he should not have done what he did.

Repeat Offender

Interestingly, this is not the first time Adams has acted this way. Back on October 2 against the New York Giants, Adams yelled at a different UNC after taking a knee to the helmet by Daniel Jones, and was ruled out for the rest of the game due to a concussion. The doctor told Adams he could not return, resulting in Adams acting in a fit of rage against the UNC, which required him to be held back by teammates.

“First and foremost, I want to apologize to the OG,” Adams wrote after the first incident. “You did everything right when you realized I was concussed, I apologize for any negative energy I brought your way. Watching the replay, I am thankful for your patience knowing I wasn’t myself in that moment. Prioritizing player’s [sic] health is essential. Much respect to you!”

The NFL considered fining Jamal Adams for that incident back when it occurred, but determined it wasn’t necessary following that apology which was posted on his Twitter (X) page. But now, Adams has been fined following the second incident. According to the NFL, though, the first incident does not count and thus Adams is not considered a repeat offender.

Adams was not suspended, so he will play in Week 7. The Seahawks will face the Arizona Cardinals at home this Sunday.
