Indiana scored one of the biggest recruiting victories in program history Friday, securing a commitment from five-star wide receiver Monshun Sales. The elite prospect becomes the highest-rated recruit ever to commit to the Hoosiers under head coach Curt Cignetti.

Sales announced his decision on The Pat McAfee Show, choosing Indiana over fellow finalists Texas, Alabama, Ohio State and LSU after a highly competitive recruiting battle.

Cignetti Adds Program-Changing Talent

The 6-foot-5, 200-pound standout from Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis is ranked No. 18 overall in ESPN’s SC Next 300 and is the No. 4 wide receiver in the 2027 recruiting class.

His commitment continues the momentum surrounding Indiana following its national championship season and gives the Hoosiers their biggest recruiting win in modern program history.

If he signs with Indiana, Sales will surpass 2022 linebacker Dasan McCullough as the highest-rated recruit ever to join the program.

Elite Prospect With Two-Way Ability

Sales has emerged as one of the nation’s premier athletes thanks to his combination of size, speed and versatility.

During his junior season, he caught 37 passes for 794 yards and nine touchdowns while also contributing on defense with 56 tackles.

ESPN recruiting director Tom Luginbill believes Sales has the physical tools to become a difference-maker at the next level.

“The Hoosiers are getting one of those rare prospects that can really run yet also has terrific size,” Luginbill said. “Indiana has had tremendous success with bigger targets on the outside.”

Indiana’s 2027 Recruiting Class Continues to Grow

Sales becomes the centerpiece of Indiana’s 2027 class, joining fellow ESPN 300 commits Jalaythan Mayfield and Mason McDermott.

The Hoosiers now hold commitments from 17 prospects, including quarterback Jameson Purcell, running back Da’Jon Talley Rhodes and wide receivers Branden Sharpe and Jordan Carrasquillo.

Landing Sales also represents a major in-state recruiting victory, as Indiana held off a late push from Texas while fending off several college football powers to keep one of the nation’s top prospects home.
