The 2023 NFL season is officially over. It is draft season! The Cleveland Browns are coming off one of the wildest seasons ever. It isn’t often a team that goes through four quarterbacks and still makes the playoffs. In the 2024 NFL Draft, their options are limited as they are still paying the price for Deshaun Watson. Here is the Cleveland Browns 2024 NFL Draft guide.
Cleveland Browns 2024 NFL Draft Picks
The Cleveland Browns have seven picks in the 2024 NFL Draft.
- Round 2: No. 54 overall
- Round 3: No. 85 overall
- Round 5: No. 135 overall (via Carolina)
- Round 5: No. 155 overall (via Arizona)
- Round 6: No. 205 overall (via Houston)
- Round 6: No. 208 overall (via Baltimore)
- Round 7: No. 228 overall (via Atlanta)
The Cleveland Browns have one of the wildest set of draft picks you will ever see. Only two picks are their own. Their first and fourth-round picks are going to Houston as a part of the Deshaun Watson trade. Trading away Baker Mayfield and Josh Dobbs netted them a couple of picks. With no selection in the top 50, the Browns are stuck. Still, there is always value to be found in the draft.
Cleveland Browns NFL Draft Needs
The Cleveland Browns need the following positions: WR, DL, LB, RB, OT
Amari Cooper is a really good receiver. Outside of him, the team doesn’t have a consistent wide receiver. David Njoku came alive late in the season once Joe Flacco was the quarterback, but the offense needs another weapon. They could also use a young running back, as Nick Chubb is coming off of a major injury and will likely need his load to be lightened.
On defense, the Cleveland Browns could use some more depth in the front seven. Linebacker is a huge need as the group was the weak point of a strong defense. If the team can get Myles Garrett some help, this unit could be scary again in 2024.
Mock Draft
Mock drafts are done on NFL Mock Draft Database. No trades were executed. Obviously, teams tend to wheel and deal, but this is meant to give a look at what the team can do with the draft capital they currently have.

Mock Draft Analysis
The Cleveland Browns go defense in the 2024 NFL Draft for me. Getting Sweat in the second round is great value. From there, Wilson is a solid linebacker with upside. Defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz has proven he can take solid talent and turn it into a great defense. I think Cleveland needs to double or even triple-dip at wide receiver, and I have them nabbing two in this draft.
Laube is probably the most interesting pick. Being out of New Hampshire not much is known about the running back. However, in the film that I have watched I like what he brings to the table. He will be behind a strong offensive line and not have to be the featured back. He could bring a nice change of pace at a cheap cost.
For the Cleveland Browns, more of the focus is whether Deshaun Watson is the quarterback of the future. Between the suspension and last year’s injury, he hasn’t played a full season. If he can return to an MVP form, this team could contend in 2024.
