Chris Brito

Rutgers Chris Brito - Ben Solomon/Rutgers Athletics

Following the 2023 MLB draft, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights infielder, Chris Brito is now playing with the Staten Island FerryHawks. Brito is from Perth Amboy, New Jersey, and spent five seasons playing college baseball. After a solid 2023 season, it makes sense why the FerryHawks would want to sign this Scarlet Knight. Here is a look at Brito’s 2023 season, and more information on the FerrHawks.

Chris Brito 2023 Season

The Scarlet Knights had a solid 2023 season despite starting rough. Despite not making it far in the Big Ten tournament, the season is something that fans can look back on and be happy about. Brito is a big reason for the exciting 2023 season. He was a starter for 56 games and had 53 runs and 14 home runs, according to Baseball Reference. He only had 34 putouts but did have 106 assists. It will be fun to see how Brito progresses in his career following college.

The FerryHawks

Chris Brito has already been playing in games for the FerryHawks, though of course not many yet. He has been a part of four games for the team. He has even already hit one home run and seven RBIs. It is safe to say this is a smart move for Brito.

The FerryHawks are struggling this season record-wise. Aside from being Independent, they are in the Atlantic League, North Division. Their record is 26-48. Their next game is against the Lexington Counter Clocks, who they are currently in a series with. While there are not many games left in the season, Chris Brito and the rest of the roster can help the team win more games.

They did just win their most recent game against the Counter Clocks, 2-1. Hopefully, they can win the rest of the games in this series, and use the momentum in their favor. Chris Brito will be missed, but it will be fun to watch him continue to play baseball.
