Game Breakdown

BYU vs Cincinnati was electric in Provo on a Friday night under the lights. BYU took the 35-27 victory and the first Big 12-era win. The Cougar running game found their spark last night and had one of their biggest games of the season. BYU’s offense struggled to stay on the same page and left the defense out there kind of long. This BYU defense was rolling last night and made some huge plays to keep the Cougars in the game.

Weylin Lapuaho: Didn’t play

Parker Kingston: Played after that big hit against Kansas

Ben Bywater: Didn’t play

Aidan Robbins: Didn’t play

Isaiah Bagnah was helped off the field late in the fourth quarter

Studs

Jakob Robinson CB

Robinson was on fire last night and came out swinging. He had six tackles, one pass deflection, and one pick-six. Robinson has been a leader all season for the Cougar defense and is now starting to make those big plays to get the defense off the field.

Max Tooley LB

Max Tooley had a career night and showed that he is NFL material. He had 16 tackles and nine of them were solo. Tooley has been making plays all year and has just made the linebackers so much better. He also stepped up last night with the Cougars leading tackler out.

Darius Lassiter WR

Lassiter had a big night for the Cougar offense. He had one reception for 22 yards and one touchdown. Lassiter made a big play last night when the Cougars needed it to keep them in the game.

Chase Roberts WR

Chase Roberts was a big factor in that win last night for BYU. He had six receptions for 131 yards and one touchdown. Roberts also had another big catch and run to spark the Cougar offense.

AJ Vongphachahn LB

Vongphachahn was another one of the linebackers to step up in Bywater’s absence. He had 10 tackles, and one tackle for loss.

Harrison Taggart LB

Harrison Taggart got to see the field as a start last night as Bywaters back up and he did not disappoint the Cougars. He had 10 tackles, and four were solo. Taggart will be a great Cougar one day and is a great option for a backup linebacker.

LJ Martin RB

Martin had another good game and was the spark for the BYU run game. He rushed for 66 yards and two touchdowns. Martin showed that one day when the Cougars have a better run game he will be a star.

Duds

Keelan Marion WR

Keelan Marion wasn’t heard from last night during the Cougars win over the Bearcats. He had one reception for 13 yards.

Isaac Rex TE

Rex was quiet last night and only saw one reception for 14 yards. He had some big games and struggled last night let’s hope he can start to make those big plays again.

John Nelson DE

John Nelson struggled for defense last night the stop the run and to keep it contained. He had three tackles against Cincinnati last night.
