BYU Safety Micah Harper is out for the Season. Earlier in the week he suffered an injury that he has announced will end his season.

During the first two weeks of camp, the Cougars have seen their first major injury. The Cougars held their first scrimmage at Lavell Edwards Stadium on Saturday and reports came out that someone had gone off injured. Those reports have now been confirmed by Micah Harper that he suffered a season-ending injury. He said on his Twitter page that “I walk by faith and not by sight and know that God’s plan and timing is > than mine. To be continued in 2024…”.

This is a blow to the Cougar’s defense and BYU in general. Harper was expected to be a starter and play a huge role in this new defensive scheme. The Cougars have Malik Moore, Talan Alfrey, Preston Rex, Tanner Wall, Chika Ebunoha, Ethan Slade, Ty Burke, Raider Damuni, Crew Wakley, and Petey Tuipulotu. These guys will have to fill his shoes and step their game up to help the Cougars win games.

Micah Harper is a 5-10 192 lbs sophomore from Chandler, Arizona. In his first season, he played in 11 games with 25 tackles, one forced fumble, and one pass breakup. Harper’s second year he didn’t play due to injury. Last season he played in 13 games with 62 tackles, two forced fumbles, and three pass breakups. Harper has a great chance to start with his experience on the field. He also can break up the pass well.
