The 2023 Football Season is just around the corner. With fall camp starting in just a couple of weeks let’s do some position previews for the BYU Football team. Today I will talk about the BYU Running Backs and the Wide Receivers in the next article.

Aidan Robbins

Aidan Robbins is 6-3 230 lbs from Louisville Kentucky. He is a transfer from UNLV Robbins will be a junior this fall and a great starter for the Cougars. In 2020 and 2021 he played for Louisville. The 2020 season he rushed for 10 yards. His Sophomore he rushed for 41 yards and one touchdown. Robbins rushed for 209 attempts, 1011 yards, and nine touchdowns in 2022 for the Rebels.

Hinkley Ropati

Hinckley Ropati is a 5-10 215 lbs from Downey California. He will be a good starter or a great back up on gamedays. Ropati rushed for 15 yards in 2021. In 2022 he rushed for 189 yards and one touchdown.

Miles Davis

Miles Davis is a 6-2 210 lbs sophomore from Las Vegas, Nevada. His first year he played in four games and had 96 yards for two touchdowns. 2021 he played in two games and had -7 rushing yards. Last season he played in eight games and rushed for 225 yards and zero touchdowns.

Deion Smith

Deion Smith is a 6-0 190 lbs from Houston, Texas, and a transfer from Colorado. He played three seasons for the Buffs. During the 2019 season he rushed for 68 yards and no touchdowns. The 2020 season Colorado didn’t play many games so he didn’t suit up. In 2021 he played in 11 games for 192 yards and two touchdowns. Last season he rushed for 393 yards and two touchdowns.

Nukuluve Helu

Nukuluve Helu is a 6-1 215 lbs freshmen from Tooele, Utah. During his high school career he rushed for 2,369 yards and 29 touchdowns.

Enoch Nawahine

Enoch Nawahine is a 6-1 210 lbs from Kahuku, Hawaii and is a transfer from Utah State. He played in 2019 for Utah State and rushed for 53 yards.

Morgan Pyper

Morgan Pyper is a 6-2 215 lbs from Idaho Falls, Idaho. He played linebacker for the Cougars since 2019 this season he will make the switch to running backs. So far he has played 42 games for BYU.

LJ Martin

LJ Martin is a 6-1 207 lbs from El Paso, Texas. During his high school career he played in 36 games and rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns.

Chase Hopkins

Chase Hopkins is a 6-0 220 lbs from Holladay, Utah, and went to Olympus High School. He rushed for 1,902 yards and 23 touchdowns during his high school career.
