BYU Football sees currently three players enter the transfer portal. The Transfer Portal opens up May 1st and there have already been three cougars to throw their hats in the ring. These players have seen limited playing time and also have had to learn a new system with the new defense and special teams coaching staffs. I see a few more potentially as spring ball wraps up this week and maybe a couple more after the portal officially opens.
This article will be kept up to date as others enter the portal and look for a new home to play ball at.
George Udo
George Udo has announced he is transferring from BYU. Udo posted on his social media that he will not be returning to BYU for his final year of college football.
George Udo played for the Cougars from 2019-2023. He played in 37 games over those five years on the defense he made some big plays for them last season when Tooley and Wilgar went down with injuries.
Logan Pili
Logan Pili is also entering the transfer portal as spring ball wraps up this week. He only played one season with the Cougars. He will join his brother in also transferring from BYU this year. Pili played in three games this past season and had seven tackles for the Cougar defense.
Cash Peterman
Cash Peterman started this ball rolling this offseason with his announcement in March that he was entering the transfer portal. He been with the Cougars since 2021 and has played in just three games. Peterman kicked off in two games and made a PAT against Utah Tech.
Dean Jones
Dean Jones played in just three games this past fall. He has been a Cougar since 2021 and spent that season a member of the scout team. Jones will be a good safety where ever he goes next as he learns more about the position.
Kody Epps
Kody Epps after testing the waters in the transfer portal will return to BYU.
