BYU Basketball heads to Omaha Nebraska to start their run in March as the number Six Seed. The Cougars finished the season 23-10 and this comes after they were selected to finish 13th in the Big 12. They finished 5th overall in the Big 12 during their first season in the conference.

The Cougars will take on the Duquesne Dukes in Omaha Nebraska on Thursday. These two will face off in the East Region. BYU will win this game and start to look dangerous in the East Region. They fared well in Quad one wins with 6 and an overall record of 6-8. In Quad two wins they went 5-2 in 2024.

BYU in the NCAA Tournament

This year’s tournament appearance will be BYU’s 31st appearance. The Cougars have never faired well in March and are 15-33 during their time dancing in March. BYU returns for the first time since 2021 when they went 20-7. The Cougar’s last win in the tournament was in 2011 with Dave Rose, Kyle Collinsworth, Jimmer Fredette, Noah Hartsock, and many more who are permanently etched in BYU’s history.

BYU is 0-2 against the Dukes in Basketball. These two games took place in 1947 and 1954. BYU has a great chance of winning this time with the roster averaging 81 points per game and only allowing 69 points per game. This Cougar roster is headed up by Jackson Robinson, Dallin Hall, and Spencer Johnson with many of those points coming off the bench.
