Team Overview for 2023
This Colorado team started strong and then fell down the hill fast. After their rollercoaster season, they finished 1-8 in the Pac-12 and 4-8 on the season. They averaged 363 yards on offense, which isn’t enough for many teams to succeed in the Power Five conferences. On defense, they allowed 453 yards per game which has to be fixed before entering the Big 12 where they will lose worse than they did last year.
Schedule
North Dakota State
The first game of 2024 will be against NDSU which is an FCS team and has seen some amazing years. They have not ever faced off against them before so it should be a good game to watch. The Buffaloes are expected to win this game and start 2024 off strong.
Nebraska
The last time these two faced off was last year when Nebraska won 36-14. They have played 72 times over the years and the Corn Huskers have won 49 of those matchups. This time Colorado is expected to come out on top and beat the Corn Huskers to stay undefeated in 2024.
Colorado State
This is a big college rivalry that will continue to be played even after the conference shake-up. They played last season and Colorado won 43-35 which added to their 68 wins in this series. The Buffaloes are predicted to win this game and be 3-0 in 2024.
Baylor
They have played 16 times before and Baylor won the last one in 2010 31-25. In this game, Colorado will come out on top and win this game.
UCF
The Knights and Buffaloes have never met on the gridiron before. This will become a common matchup over the years with these two now being in the same conference. Colorado is predicted to get this win and start the Big 12 era off strong.
Kansas State
These two have played several times before and the last one was in 2010 when Colorado won 44-36. They are also predicted to get this win and continue to stay undefeated.
Arizona
Arizona heads home to take on Colorado on Oct 19th. These two faced off last year and the Wildcats won 34-31. These two are not shy when it comes to gridiron they have faced off 26 times with Colorado holding the most wins. Colorado will lose this game to a former Pac-12 foe and now a Big 12 foe.
Cincinnati
The last time these two faced off was in 1972; Colorado won 56-14. That was the only time they have met on the gridiron and this will change now that they are in the same conference. Colorado will win this game in 2024.
Texas Tech
Texas Tech has played Colorado ten times and the series sits at five games a piece. The last matchup was in 2010 when the Red Raiders won 27-24. This time around Colorado is predicted to win and add another to their 2024 season.
Utah
This game has been played many times in the past due to these two being in the same conference. Last year when these two faced off Utah came out with a 23-17 victory and this year will be no different when they beat Colorado again.
Kansas (Arrowhead Stadium)
These two last faced off in 2010 when Kansas won 52-45. They have played over 60 times over the years and Colorado has 42 wins. This time will be no different when they go into Arrowhead and beat Kansas.
Oklahoma State
The final game of 2024 will be against the Cowboys and the last one was in 2016 in the Alamo Bowl when the Cowboys won 38-8. Colorado has the most wins in this series and they will get the next one this year.
