The 2023 season of the NFL is officially over, and now it is time to discuss the Arizona Cardinals 2024 NFL Draft. The Cardinals have a lot to fix heading into the 2024 season. Some wonder if they will keep Kyler Murray, though he is now healed from the ACL tear he sustained in 2022. The team pulled out some big wins but struggled overall. Arizona Cardinals 2024 NFL Draft Needs

The Arizona Cardinals need to draft the following positions: WR, DL, IOL, TE, CB

Some may say the Cardinals need a new quarterback, but for now, I do not see it happening. Other positions of need are much more important for Arizona to prioritize. One position of need is the wide receiver position. Murray needs targets if they keep him, just as any quarterback does. In 2023, no receiver reached 1,000 yards. They have solid targets but need a top guy. The Cardinals should also grab another tight end. Trey McBride did well and was the team’s leading receiver, but after also releasing Zach Ertz, they need another. To pass more efficiently, Murray needs an offensive line to protect him. Drafting an interior offensive lineman will be crucial in this year’s draft.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Cardinals should look for help on the defensive line. That is one of their weakest positions on the team. The most sacks a defensive lineman had last year was Dante Stills with 3.5. He also led the line with tackles. The Cardinals’ defensive line will need to put more pressure on the quarterback if they want to stay competitive. On the defense, they also need help with cornerback depth.

Mock Draft

Mock drafts are done on NFL Mock Draft Database. No trades were executed. Obviously, teams tend to wheel and deal, but this is meant to give a look at what the team can do with the draft capital they currently have.

Mock Draft Analysis

13 picks are a lot, it is definitely plausible for the Cardinals to make some trades and move around throughout the draft. Will wide receiver, Marvin Harrison Jr. fall to the fourth overall pick? Who knows. But in the mock draft simulator, he did, and if that happens in real life, the Cardinals should definitely grab him. They have a lot of needs, so do expect them to take the best player left for the positions. Prioritizing the needed positions, such as defensive end, cornerback and offensive line was the best route to go. If and where the Cardinals take a quarterback will remain a question. The seventh round may be later than they do if they do.

A lot can change between now and the 2024 NFL Draft. First up is free agency, and if the Cardinals make key signings, they may not have to draft certain positions as early.
