Rutgers Baseball has just received a commitment from Anthony Frobose. The young athlete took to Twitter to announce his commitment to the University. Frobose is a pitcher and short stop that is part of the class of 2025, and potentially a big commitment for the Scarlet Knights. Here is all you need to know about Frobose.

Who is Anthony Frobose?

Frobose is from New York, currently attending Lakeland High School. As stated, he is a part of the class of 2025, and he is already a great player. His travel team is Northeast Pride National. Northeast Pride is a highly regarded program by college scouts and even the MLB. Recruiting a guy like Frobose is great for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights and its baseball program.

Despite being so young, his growing velocity can reach 90 miles per hour, according to Baseball Factory. He can also run ten yards in 1.78 seconds and 60 yards in 7.10 seconds. Frobose still has two years left of high school, which insinuates that he will only grow as a player if he keeps up this hard work.

What this Means for Rutgers Baseball

Considering Anthony Frobose will not be playing for the Scarlet Knights until the 2025-2026 season, it does not make sense to predict the team’s record. Who knows where the Big Ten will be by then, especially with all this talk of a conference expansion? But what this commitment from Frobose does say, is that the Scarlet Knights’ recruiting is growing. It truly has been doing well for the past couple of years now.

It is only August ninth. The window for the class of 2025 only recently opened up. Receiving a commitment from Frobose, a strong player, this early on will only bring in more great players. Frobose could turn out to be a star, and that will be great, but this is about more than just Frobose. His commitment genuinely does help the Rutgers Scarlet Knights baseball program.

It is still early and players do back out of commitments at times, but Rutgers baseball is no joke. They ended their season strong despite an early exit from the Big Ten tournament. The program is looking like it will only get better from here, especially having two players taken in the 2023 MLB draft. Anthony Frobose is just the first of the many recruits that Rutgers will gain from the class of 2025. Fans should definitely be excited about the future.
