In Week 3 of the Heisman Watch quarterbacks and wide receivers stand out. There’s still no clear-cut frontrunner for the Heisman. But there are plenty of players showing that they have the potential to win the most prestigious individual award in sports.

Mario Craver, Texas A&M, Wide Receiver, Sophomore

Craver was the biggest reason that the Aggies got a huge non-conference win on the road. Mario Craver was Marcel Reed’s favorite target and rightly so. Craver had seven catches for 207 yards and a touchdown. Keep an eye on Mario Craver as he is off to a red-hot start in 2025.

Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State, Wide Receiver, Sophomore

Smith has once again become the focal point of Ohio State’s offensive attack. In their 37-9 win over Ohio, Smith had nine catches for 153 yards and a touchdown and added another touchdown and 17 yards on the ground for the Buckeyes.

Ty Simpson, Alabama, Quarterback, Junior

Simpson took a lot of heat for the loss at Florida State. He’s bounced back strongly since that loss and had a great game in Alabama’s victory over Wisconsin. Simpson was 24 of 29 for 382 yards and four touchdown passes. That’s how Bama will need Simpson to play the rest of this season, or Kalen DeBoer’s seat will get hotter.

Behren Morton, Texas Tech, Quarterback, Senior

Morton played a game that Mike Leach and the old Texas Tech Air Raid offenses would be proud of. He was 23 of 35 for 464 yards and four touchdowns in Texas Tech’s crushing of Oregon State. The Red Raider won 45-14 and are contenders for the Big 12 title and that could begin on Saturday against Utah.

Chris Brazzell II, Tennessee, Wide Receiver, Junior

No one had a better game this week than Tennessee wide receiver Chris Brazzell II. Brazzell had six catches for 177 yards and three touchdowns. Tennessee almost ended their losing streak to Georgia because Brazzell nearly carried them to victory on his back. Even in the loss, the Vols’ offense looks as good as it has ever been, and Brazzell is a big reason why.
