Here are the Nominees for the 2024 MVP NFL Honors
MVP
Josh Allen: QB- Buffalo Bills
Once again, Allen put on a show for the fans back at One Bills Drive. This year seemed different as the look in his eyes was more fierce than in previous years.
The stats showed that number 17 put up a career-best 41 total touchdowns (28 throwing, 12 rushing, one receiving) and a 77.3 QBR in 17 games.
Additionally, he was the only quarterback in NFL history to throw, rush, and catch a touchdown in a Dec 1 game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Lamar Jackson: QB- Baltimore Ravens
Jackson also had a career year, throwing for 4,172 passing yards and 41 touchdowns in 17 games.
If he wins the MVP back-back award, Jackson will be the sixth player in NFL history to do so.
Jared Goff: QB- Detriot Lions
Goff threw for 37 TDs while passing for a remarkable 4,629 yards, with a 68.6 QB rating in 17 games this season.
Additionally, the strong-armed QB compiled a remarkable 72.4 completion percentage, which was the fourth-best start in a season in the league.
Not a surprise to many, he earned his fourth Pro Bowl bid.

OPOY
Saquon Barkley: RB- Philadelphia Eagles
Barkley accomplished a towering feat this year. He compiled 2,005 rushing yards in 16 games.
The speedy running back was a little over 100 yards rushing away from passing Eric Dickerson as the league’s all-time single-season rusher.
He did not play in week 18, as he didn’t have to. The Eagles now have a chance to spoil a Kansas City three-peat in Super Bowl 59.
In addition, he is now the ninth RB to run for at least 2,000 yards in the regular season.
Derrick Henry: RB- Baltimore Ravens
What a steal signing by the Ravens. In 17 contests, the power back was second in the league with 1,921 yards rushing.
Henry is tied with Bills’ running back James Cook for first with 16 rushing TDs.
The smash-mouth runner had a chance to compete in the playoffs this year while the Titans are building a nice long-term line and have the number one pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
Ja’Marr Chase: WR- Cincinnati Bengals
Chase completed his 2024 season earning career bests with 127 receptions, 1,708 receiving yards, and 17 touchdown receptions.
Additionally, the superstar wideout was named a first-team All-Pro. Nevertheless, all these achievements, plus the market value of wide receivers, should earn the All-Pro a long-term contract extension in the offseason.

DPOY
T.J. Watt: Edge Rusher- Pittsburgh Steelers
Having already won this award in 2021, Watt went to his seventh Pro Bowl in a row with another bang of a season.
In 17 games, he forced six fumbles and recorded 11.5 sacks. The pass rusher is back to win this award again, and rightfully so.
Patrick Surtain II: CB- Denver Broncos
While just six cornerbacks have won DPOY, Broncos head coach Sean Payton applied that Surtain’s case isn’t rocket science by quoting he has “an easy case to make.” Surtain was on an island all year, allowed just one TD catch and a below-average 61.1 passer rating in 16 games.
It’s funny how only six cornerbacks have won this award when GMs always say you can never have enough corners because the NFL is a passing league.
Myles Garrett: Edge Rusher – Cleveland Browns
The DPOY from 2023 didn’t take a step back this season.
He took more steps forward, recording 14 sacks and forcing three fumbles in 17 games.
It’s really a back-and-forth between Watt and Garrett.
Both are good players, but Watt may be a better choice because he’s judged on making the playoffs every year, whereas Garrett has made it, but last year, the team took a step back.

OROY
Jayden Daniels: QB- Washington Commanders
Do we even have to mention any of the other nominees in this category?
Daniels came into the league and blew everyone out of the water this season.
“Big Game” Jayden was (12-5) in 17 games with 31 total touchdowns, and even Houstons’ (QB), CJ Stroud, who was OROY in 2023, said Daniels has “had the best rookie season of all time.”
Brock Bowers: TE- Las Vegas Raiders
In 17 games, Bowers recorded 1,194 receiving yards, breaking the rookie TE record set by Mike Ditka.
He recorded 1,076 yards in 14 games in 1961, which is impressive considering the Raiders’ quarterback inconsistency.
Bo Nix: QB- Denver Broncos
Nix and the Broncos ended the franchise’s eight-year playoff dry spell.
In 17 games, Nix went (10-7) with 3,775 passing yards and 29 touchdown passes. If it weren’t for Daniels, Nix would be a serious frontrunner in winning this award.

DROY
Jared Verse: Edge Rusher- L.A. Rams
Verse stepped in and played right away after Aaron Donald called it quits in March 2024.
The talented athlete was recognized as having the fourth-most pressures in the NFL, with 77 in 17 games.
This guy was a menace against the Eagles’ offense in their 28-22 loss in the NFC Divisional playoff round.
Quinyon Mitchell: CB- Philadelphia Eagles
Mitchell had 12 passes batted down in 16 games, which tied for second on the team.
The bigger fish to fry here is that he played a vital role in the Eagles’ defense, allowing the fewest passing yards in the league, with 174.2.
Chop Robinson: Edge Rusher- Miami Dolphins
The native Penn State athlete’s pass rush win rate was 18.8% in 17 games, which was eighth best in the league.
Robinson was the next pass rusher out of Penn State cut out of the Micah Parsons mold, but Robinson ran a faster 40-yard dash time at the combine in 4.48 seconds.
Here are your 2024 NFL Honor nominees. You probably know these names well, so watch the NFL honors this Thursday evening on Fox or NFL Network.
