After a wild first week of free agency in the NFL, the league has begun to quiet down. However, several veteran WRs remain in free agency. For teams looking to add to their receiving groups, these three players should command some attention. Where will these pass catchers land?

Landing Spots for Veteran WRs in Free Agency

Tyler Lockett – Dallas Cowboys

In 2024, the Dallas Cowboys lacked any consistent threat down the field. They had to rely on KeVontae Turpin to create explosive plays on quick passes and screens. While Tyler Lockett is not the athlete he was at his peak, he would still add a vertical element that the Cowboys offense currently lacks. Lockett has reportedly drawn interest from the Lions and Seahawks. Dallas was reportedly interested in Cooper Kupp before he signed with Seattle. Could Tyler Lockett be the next best option for the Dallas Cowboys?

Amari Cooper – New England Patriots

The New England Patriots have spent more money than any other team in the NFL early in free agency. However, they have yet to address one of their biggest needs. The Patriots receiver room is currently headlined by DeMario Douglas and Kendrick Bourne. To support the development of Drake Maye, New England could look to bring in one of the veteran WRs remaining in free agency. Amari Cooper had a disappointing stint with the Bills, but his route running and sure hands would make him a valuable piece in an offense with a young quarterback.

Keenan Allen – New York Jets

Rumors have been swirling about Keenan Allen returning to the Los Angeles Chargers. But with Ladd McConkey in the building, it may not make sense for the Chargers to bring in another slot receiver, even if nostalgia would make the move attractive. Instead, Keenan Allen could become a clear second option for the New York Jets. Behind Garrett Wilson, the Jets are severely lacking talent at the receiver position. Bringing in Keenan Allen would support the growth and development of recently signed quarterback Justin Fields.
