Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller turned himself in on Thursday following an arrest warrant for allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman.

Police Confirmation and Felony Assault Charge

The Glenn Heights Police Department in suburban Dallas confirmed Miller’s surrender to face a third-degree felony assault charge, which is punishable by 2 to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. He was booked into the DeSoto Tri-City Jail on a $5,000 bond and released shortly thereafter.

The Dallas Police Department had earlier confirmed the warrant after responding to a major disturbance call on Wednesday at 11 a.m. CT. The preliminary investigation revealed a verbal argument between Miller and the woman, escalating to alleged assault.

Details from the ESPN-obtained Affidavit

As per the ESPN-obtained affidavit for the arrest warrant, the woman and Miller have been in a seven-year relationship with children together, and she is six weeks pregnant. The altercation began around 10:40 a.m. CT and focused on her travel plans, leading to visible anger from Miller, according to the affidavit.

The documented events expose Miller allegedly pushing, shoving, stepping on her feet, applying pressure to her neck, damaging property, and causing injuries.

Despite Miller leaving before police arrival, the woman identified both parties in a 911 call, presenting evidence of the alleged assault captured in a recording on her phone. No hospitalization occurred, but she was treated for minor injuries.

Bills and NFL Statements

“This morning, we were made aware of an incident involving Von Miller,” the Bills said in a statement Thursday. “We are in the process of gathering more information and will have no further comment at this point.”

The NFL also released a statement: “We are aware of the matter and have been in contact with the club. We will follow all legal developments. We have no further comment at this time.”

Miller, 34, who was under investigation in Parker, Colorado in 2021, joined the Bills in 2022 under a six-year, $120 million contract. He has played 19 games with the team, including eight this season after recovering from a right ACL injury.
