Utah’s four Division I teams finish up their 2025 regular seasons

The Utah Utes, the Utah Valley Wolverines, the BYU Cougars, and the Utah Tech Trailblazers complete their 2025 seasons, and the latter three look to the postseason.

Utah (21-29, 8-23 in the Big 12)

Utah fell on the road at BYU on Tuesday night. Thursday was another tough outing, this time a 13-5 loss to TCU. Friday night was a different story, as the Utes pulled even with TCU with an 8-6 victory. The Utes fell by the same score on Saturday. Utah joins UCF in being left out of the Big 12 Tournament. 2025 is in the books for the Utah Utes.

UVU (28-27, 13-11 in the WAC)

Utah Valley lost game one of their series against San Francisco, 8-3, on Wednesday. On Thursday, the Wolverines lost again to the Friars, 3-1. On Friday, the Wolverines ended the series on the wrong end of a sweep with their 6-5 loss. UVU now heads to Mesa, Arizona, for the WAC Tournament, which will begin play on Tuesday in Hohokam Stadium.

BYU (27-26, 11-20 in the Big 12)

The Cougars had to bring it this week to make the Big 12 Tournament. BYU had a big win over rival Utah on Tuesday night. The Cougars jumped out to a huge 7-2 lead after the first three innings. BYU had to weather a furious comeback from the Utes before closing out the 9-8 win.

The Cougs got another huge Big 12 win on Thursday with a 13-4 victory over Texas Tech. The game was tighter on Friday, but the result was the same for BYU. They beat Texas Tech 6-5, clinched their spot in the Big 12 Tournament next week, and knocked out UCF and rival Utah. BYU fell 7-4 on Saturday, but winning three of their four games this week was enough to send the Cougars to the Big 12 Tournament. They head to Arlington, Texas, as the postseason begins on Wednesday.

Utah Tech (23-29, 9-15 in the WAC)

Utah Tech lost to UC Davis on Tuesday, 6-2. They had another loss on Thursday to Sacramento State, 13-5. Tech evened the series Friday night, beating Sacramento State 6-3.
