As the chaos of NFL free agency winds down, the league is shifting its focus to the 2025 NFL Draft. While splash moves in free agency are captivating, teams are truly built through the draft. In this year’s draft class, superstars like Travis Hunter and Ashton Jeanty will garner national attention. However, the 2025 NFL Draft holds some hidden gems who could prove to be future stars themselves.
2025 NFL Draft Hidden Gems
3. David Walker, Central Arkansas EDGE
Central Arkansas isn’t exactly known for producing top-tier NFL talent, so it’s easy to see why David Walker has flown under the radar thus far. At just 6’2″ and 260 pounds, he isn’t the physical specimen that some teams look for in the draft. However, his refined pass-rushing skills make him an intriguing prospect.
In three seasons at Central Arkansas, Walker posted 30 sacks and six forced fumbles. He may not be an immediate starter in the NFL, but Walker has the tools to become a key contributor for the team that selects him.
2. Kyle Monangai, Rutgers RB
This draft class is loaded with talented running backs. There may be upwards of eight running backs drafted in the first three rounds. If an NFL team chooses to wait to address the position, Rutgers back Kyle Monangai could be the perfect option.
Kyle Monangai’s stats are enough to warrant a double take. In each of the last two seasons, Monangai has rushed for over 1,200 yards and averaged at least five yards per carry. Monangai is considered a day three prospect due to his limited athleticism, but we’ve seen backs be successful in the NFL without blazing speed.
1. Tyler Shough, Louisville QB
If you’ve heard anything about this draft class, you’ve probably heard that it’s a relatively weak group of quarterbacks. However, one of the best hidden gems in the 2025 NFL Draft is an underrated signal caller out of Louisville.
Tyler Shough’s collegiate road ran through Oregon and Texas Tech before he transferred to Louisville for his final season. As a Cardinal, Shough proved himself to be an incredibly accurate passer with a strong arm and a developed ability to read coverages quickly. Shough is currently the 181st-ranked player on PFF’s NFL Draft big board. A quarterback-needy team like the Steelers or Giants could scoop him up in the middle rounds and find their long-term starter.
