In this article we will break down the Zodiac signs for each of the 32 NFL starting quarterbacks during the 2024-2025 season. Curious why your team’s quarterback does what he does? We can’t explain everything, but we can give you an educated guess with their sun signs. Let’s get into it!

Aries = 2

Derek Carr and Baker Mayfield are both Aries. It’s no surprise that Carr tried that superman jump that broke his arm this season—Aries are natural athletes. What doesn’t come naturally is patience and planning. Carr can confirm both. We would have thought Baker Mayfield was a Cancer the way he is so expressive in his grief when he loses. It’s all over his face. But Aries are highly competitive, so it’s not a surprise he takes losses so hard. Why don’t we have more of such an athletic sign in our quarterback pool? Get on it, recruiters!

Taurus = 0

We have no Taurus quarterbacks starting in the NFL in the 2024-2025 season. This isn’t particularly surprising because these earth signs tend to be less spontaneous and more methodical. They would likely find other sports that are slower-paced and have consistent goals. Like weightlifting, for example.

Gemini = 4

Our Geminis are Sam Darnold, Josh Allen, Anthony Richardson, and Daniel Jones. The two-sided nature of the Gemini makes sense in this context. Sam Darnold and Josh Allen have been mostly solid this season, with the occasional choke. Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones mostly did the opposite with occasional glimmers of talent from Richardson.

Unlike Taurus, Gemini signs prefer more spontaneous games that will catch and keep their attention and keep them on their toes. The best way to kill the spirit of these twins would be to make them do yoga or something else slow that will keep their brains wandering. It does make sense this sport attracts many Geminis.

Cancer Zodiac Sign = 1

Will Levis is our lone Cancer. It’s not exactly shocking—we Cancers are often food-centric and homebodies who aren’t exactly triathletes. Levi’s addiction to mayo makes sense in this context. As Cancers we can also tend to be sensitive, so the emotional pressure of being a starting QB might be a lot. The kind of scandal Mark Andrews is facing right now would have most of us crying in a corner for a week in the fetal position.

One benefit of being a Cancer in the realm of sports would be our intuitive nature and ability to connect and bring people together. We also will avoid letting down our team and will put it all on the line to support our people. However, the NFL tends to chew up any sign of emotion and spit it out in a sea of toxic masculinity. If a Cancer is going to face that, they may prefer a more water-based sport like surfing or rowing.

Leo The Lions = 4

Jalen Hurts, Kyler Murray, Kirk Cousins, and Chase Young are all Leo the Lions. It is no wonder whatsoever that there are so many Leos in our group. There is nothing these lions love more than the attention and glamour that comes with the spotlight. Kirk Cousins hides his ego behind his K-Mart shirts, and Chase Young has had little opportunity this season to get any positive press, but we can absolutely see Jalen Hurts and Kyler Murray personify their sun signs.

Virgo = 3

Our Virgos are Drake Maye, Patrick Mahomes, and Aidan O’Connell. The perfectionism that most Virgos require, along with their attention to detail and precision, would lend well to being a quarterback. They also remain calm under pressure and are dependable in such a pivotal role on the team. Running is not usually their strong suit, though, so they may stay more in the pocket than elsewhere. O’Connell and Maye were both rookie QBs on terrible teams, so they get more opportunities before we hold their feet to the fire.

Libra = 4

CJ Stroud, Trevor Lawrence, Geno Smith, and Jared Goff are repping for our Libras. This one is a surprise to our resident astrologer. Libras do not always thrive in a competitive environment and don’t always love intense cardio. We can use this as an excuse for any of these four fantastic QBs when they struggle on the field.

Libras do tend to enjoy positions that require strategy, balance, and a certain level of poise and grace. Strategy is the name of the game for all starting QBs in the NFL, and staying upright and throwing with elegance can help men in this position as well. These scales also enjoy the social nature of organized sports, and there’s nothing like being around your teammates for long hours to get your social fill.

Scorpio Zodiac Sign = 3

Scorpios in the NFL include Jordan Love, Caleb Williams, and Cooper Rush. These Scorpios love games that require physical and mental strength, which is being a starting QB in the NFL in a nutshell. Scorpios are not always hugely athletic and will avoid any sport that keeps them still. Football is fast-paced enough for their thrill-seeking ways.

Sagittarius = 4

The archers of the NFL are Aaron Rodgers, Joe Burrow, Jayden Daniels, and Russell Wilson. It’s not surprising that Sagittarians are so heavily represented in this pool. This fire sign may not have natural athletic talent like Aries, but what they lack in sports aptitude they make up for with their passion for competition, desire to test their limits, and motivation to meet their goals. These adventure seekers don’t find it difficult to stay engaged on the field, and their passion for the game is palpable. Rodgers still has the fire; it was an off season, y’all!

Capricorn = 3

Our Caps are Brock Purdy, Lamar Jackson, and Jameis Winston. Purdy was probably Mr. Irrelevant because GMs know that Capricorns can struggle to let go of the past and struggle with failure. Granted, the majority of the men in this list tend to avoid failure for the most part, but as Brock Purdy can attest to, things can switch up quickly.

On the positive side, Capricorns are competitive, ambitious, and tend to be self-disciplined. They enjoy focusing intensely on their craft and have a passion for planning, which can be helpful with all those Xs and Os. You won’t be able to keep these men down—endurance is the name of the game for these athletes.

Aquarius = 1

Matthew Stafford is our one and only Aquarius. Most water bearers are a bit too quirky for such a rigid sport like the NFL. This sign is creative, independent, and thinks outside of the box. However, much like emotions, the NFL struggles with embracing innovation as well. Independence is also a questionable trait for such a team-oriented sport as well.

Stafford apparently has been able to repress himself enough to express creativity inside the very rigid box of the NFL. The occasional trick play meets his need to think outside of the box. This is a choice that most Aquariuses are not going to be able to do, hence their lack of presence in this elite group.

Pisces Fish = 3

Last but not Zodiac least, Tua Tagovailoa, Justin Herbert, and Bo Nix are Pisces. This is mildly surprising considering the only sign that comes close to the Cancer in sensitivity is the Pisces. The fish can tend to be quite emotional, find it difficult to let things go, and be indecisive. All nightmare traits for starting QBs in the NFL.

However, if these players can channel their emotions and bring their minds and bodies together, they can create miracles. These swimmers also prefer going with the flow, meaning they’re easily coachable and are good teammates. Pisces won’t be stressing on the sidelines about the progression of the game, but they may cry over what that one linebacker whispered in their ear about their mom.

It’s a bit odd we have so many of this sign in the NFL, but maybe they have coaches that are adaptable enough to work with their emotional and physical needs so they can be the best version of themselves. That might be giving Sean Payton too much credit, though.

Most Common Zodiac Signs

Out of the 12 Zodiac signs, four of them have the highest number of quarterbacks—four per sign. These heavily represented signs are Gemini, Leo, Libra, and Sagittarius. Honorable mentions go to the four signs that have three quarterbacks in their ranks: Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, and Pisces. The Taurus, Cancer, Aries, and Aquarius are not strongly represented in this group of men.

Leos, Gemini and Sagittarius are made for the NFL. Leos for the attention and accolades alone, Geminis for the fast-paced, unpredictable, and exciting nature of the game, and Sagittarius for their intense goal-setting, competitive nature, and fiery adventure-seeking nature.

Libras are a bit of a sleeper sign since cardio is not always their thing, and competition can stress them out. It’s amazing how motivating millions of dollars can be. However, these social butterflies that focus on strategy and balance can often find their way in the NFL as well.

In Conclusion

The biggest lesson from this article overall? We need more Aries in the NFL. Also, water signs should probably stick to water sports. Last but not least, but definitely most obvious, Leos love the fame and glory that come with being a starting quarterback in the NFL.

Your astrological sign in no way limits your ability to participate in the NFL. Not every sign ends up in a traditional career or sport for their sign, just ask Matthew Stafford. Your moon sign, 12 houses, and north nodes will also significantly impact your strengths, weaknesses, and preferences. We don’t know the birth chart of each of these 32 gentlemen, so we can only learn so much with their sun sign alone.
