Ryan Day’s Ohio State Squad Learn Their Postseason Fate
The Buckeyes had a long shot of making the College Football Playoff like last season if the dominos fell their way. Things didn’t go their way and they are left on the outside looking in. They’ll instead play Missouri in the Cotton Bowl on Friday, December 29th.
This likely means Ohio State fans have seen the last of the likes of Marvin Harrison Jr., TreVeyon Henderson, J.T. Tuimoloau, and maybe even more players who are expected to declare for the NFL Draft. They’d then sit out to avoid a career-altering injury in the
Ohio State would rely on Kyle McCord, Carnell Tate, Dallan Hayden, Caden Curry, and other young players who will be returning in 2024 to get them a victory in the Cotton Bowl. It will be a sad way to say adieu to legendary players who the team failed by not winning more with them. The silver lining will be an opportunity to see what the team will look like in 2024.
Football Departures
There’s expected to be some departures from Ohio State in the transfer portal and at the time of this writing (late Sunday night) one has already rumored to be on his way out.
This puts the running back position in question heading into 2024 with Pryor leaving, TreVeyon Henderson likely going pro, and senior Miyan Williams‘ future up in the air it is uncertain who RB1 will be for Ohio State in 2024.
Kicker Parker Lewis and safety Ryan Turner also announced their intentions to enter the transfer portal on Sunday night.

Men
The Hockey Bucks were at Wisconsin on Friday, December 1st, 2023 and the Buckeyes fell to #6 Badgers on the road by a score of 3-0. They didn’t fair any better in the second game on Saturday, December 2nd, falling by the score 6-1. Ohio State moves to 5-7-3 on the season.
Women
The Lady Hockey Bucks
The #1 women’s team had two home games while the men were on the road. They hosted #10 St. Cloud State and fell 2-1 for only their second loss on Friday. The top-ranked Buckeyes turned around and won big 6-2 on Saturday. They are 14-2 on the year and are out to build on the past two seasons which they finished as national champions and national runner-up respectively.

Men
Vs. Central Michigan November 29th, 2023
Vs. Minnesota December 3rd, 2023
With wins over Central Michigan and Minnesota, the basketball Buckeyes moved on to 7-1 and have won six in a row, including a win over then-17th-ranked Alabama. This week Ohio State will welcome Butler County’s own, the 4-3 Miami (OH) Redhawks to the Schott on Wednesday and then travel to 4-4 Penn State on Saturday the 9th. Star guard Bruce Thornton led the way in both victories with 25 and 26 points.
Women
The 16th and 13th (AP and Coaches Polls) ranked women won last Sunday over Cornell (November 26th) and over Tennessee on the road in Knoxville on December 3rd. After losing their season opener the Women’s Basket Bucks are 6-1 and have won six in a row.
