It’s a new era Syracuse Football fans. Orange ya glad they hired Fran Brown as their new head coach?

The former Georgia Bulldogs defensive backs coach wasted no time, as he brought in 19 new faces as the Class of 2025 picks up new commits.

We will be highlighting some of the key names in this class and what type of skill sets they bring to fit this new regime.

The Class of 2025 Picks up New Commits

1. Amari Colon – Monroe High School, (Rochester, NY). It’s very rare to find such a talent like Colon from Rochester NY. The native Rochesterian comes in at 6’1″, 180 lbs., and is very athletic. He was an effective two-way player in high school at safety and running back. The class of 2025 member will most likely play safety in college but he could be another Travis Hunter as a two-way player in college.

2. Daunte Bacheyie – CBA, (Syracuse, NY). Another recruit is staying home. At 6’5″, 193 lbs., Bacheyie is a playmaker and a polished route runner as a wide receiver. He is also great at creating yards after the catch and chose the Orange over Boston College, Pittsburgh, as well as, Fordham and Buffalo. To top that off, he tags along with wide receiver Darien Williams and offensive lineman Matthew Hawn as the third commit from CBA.

3. Ziyyon Bredell – Lincoln High School, (Philadelphia, PA). Bredell arrives at the 315 from the city of Brotherly Love in PA. The 6’1″, 175 lb. corner plays Philly tough and will play hard for the city of Syracuse when he arrives. He is very athletic and can be used on corner blitzes and cover man-man. He also had offers from Nebraska, Penn State, Boston, and other colleges.

4. Antoine Deslauriers – Rabun Gap/Nacoochee High School, (Georgia). Originally from our neighbors to the North, Deslauiers was already college-worthy. The 6’1″, 225 lb., linebacker hails from Canada but moved to Georgia to play high school ball there. The difference is in Canada; high school football does not exist as they play JUCO there. This is why he moved to the United States to play high school ball in Georgia. There, he started to gain recognition as a three-star recruit, and he’s a fast and twitchy linebacker.

What Skill Sets Do They All Bring?

These four recruits all bring multiple skill sets to head coach Fran Brown. First, they are all of high character and excel in the classroom besides on the field.

Additionally, they are talented kids from the Northeast where Brown and his recruiting staff have promised to restore in recruiting for football.

Finally, they are all part of a historically highly ranked recruiting class, that will look to turn Cuse around from a mediocre bowl team to a perennial contender in the Northeast.

Conclusion

Overall, this is shaping up to be a solid recruiting class, and it’s not done just yet.

In addition, the 2024 season hasn’t even started, so they are already looking down the road to next year’s class and getting a great start for the team.

Let’s see if they can keep riding high off the momentum and beat the perennial contenders at their own game in recruiting and winning games.

We wish Coach and his staff a great 2024 season.
