The Phoenix Suns will be without forward Dillon Brooks for four to six weeks after he fractured his left hand, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Brooks suffered the injury during Saturday’s 113-110 win over the Orlando Magic, exiting in the first quarter after appearing to grab at his non-shooting hand. Phoenix later confirmed the fracture.

A Major Blow to Phoenix’s Momentum

The timing stings for a Suns team firmly in the playoff hunt at 33-25. Brooks has delivered the best scoring season of his career, averaging 20.9 points and 3.7 rebounds while bringing his trademark defensive edge. His scoring jump of nearly seven points from last season ranks among the largest increases in the league for qualified players.

Phoenix immediately felt the impact in Sunday’s 92-77 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, where the offense sputtered to a season-low 77 points. Replacement starter Ryan Dunn managed just two points on 1-of-9 shooting.

Injuries Mounting Across the Backcourt

Brooks’ absence compounds a growing injury list. All-Star guard Devin Booker is sidelined for at least one week with a right hip strain. Guards Grayson Allen (ankle/knee) and Jordan Goodwin (calf) have also missed time, thinning Phoenix’s perimeter rotation.

Despite the setbacks, head coach Jordan Ott emphasized continuity in approach.

“The identity doesn’t change,” Ott said. “Our defense is going to have to be better, offense is going to have to be better. We’re just going to have to find new ways as things continue to progress.”

Playoff Race Implications

With roughly two dozen games remaining and a challenging schedule ahead, Phoenix must navigate the next month without one of its most productive two-way players. If Brooks returns on the early end of the projected timeline, he could rejoin the lineup shortly before the regular season concludes — a crucial window as the Western Conference standings tighten.

For now, the Suns must lean on depth, internal development and defensive discipline to stay afloat until one of their tone-setters returns.
