Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill and his wife, Keeta Vaccaro, were involved in a domestic dispute Monday, prompting police to respond to their South Florida home. According to the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department, no charges were filed, and the situation was resolved without further incident.
Details From Police Report
The call to police came from Vaccaro’s mother, who told officers that Hill was being “very aggressive and impulsive.” She also said she feared for her daughter’s safety. The incident happened in the couple’s 35th-floor apartment, where Hill reportedly threw Vaccaro’s laptop to the floor during an argument and then took their 4-month-old daughter out to the balcony.
Vaccaro told police the argument started after she accused Hill of not being involved enough in raising their daughter. She also revealed the couple had been attending therapy due to ongoing issues but said it had not helped. Vaccaro noted she had already begun the process of filing for divorce.
TMZ reported that Hill was officially served divorce papers on Tuesday.
Both Hill and Vaccaro told police their dispute was not physical. However, officers observed a bruise on Vaccaro’s chest. She said the injury likely happened when Hill grabbed their daughter and described it as accidental. Police also confirmed the baby was unharmed and in good health.
Vaccaro declined to provide a written statement, and Hill left the apartment about 40 minutes after officers arrived. No citations or arrests were made.
Dolphins, NFL Aware of Incident
On Wednesday, a Dolphins spokesperson released a statement:
“On Monday, we were informed that the police were called to Tyreek Hill’s home, and after conversations with Tyreek and members of his family, the police departed the residence without further incident and the case was closed. We have since been in communication with Tyreek and the NFL and will have no further comment on the matter.”
Ongoing Off-Field Issues
This latest incident adds to a list of off-field concerns involving Hill since his 2022 trade to the Dolphins.
In 2023, Hill was investigated for allegedly hitting a worker at Haulover Marine Center in Miami. The case was settled privately, and the NFL did not discipline Hill.
That same year, influencer Sophie Hall filed a civil lawsuit against Hill, claiming he broke her leg during football drills at his home. Hall said Hill became upset when she performed well in the drills and caused the injury with a rough play. Hill denied this, saying she tripped over a dog.
In September 2024, Hill was briefly detained near Hard Rock Stadium after being pulled over for speeding before a game. A heated exchange with police ended with Hill being dragged from his car and handcuffed. The incident was recorded by bystanders and went viral. Hill played later that day and finished with 130 receiving yards and a touchdown in a comeback win.
Trade Rumors and Future With Dolphins
Hill’s behavior has led to trade rumors since Miami’s season ended in January. He removed himself from the team’s final game and later hinted that he wanted to play elsewhere. On social media, Hill even joked about leaving, posting a photoshopped image of himself as Antonio Brown, who famously left a game shirtless.
He later walked back those comments, apologized to teammates and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, and publicly committed to staying in Miami.
At the NFL’s annual meeting, head coach Mike McDaniel expressed confidence in Hill’s future with the team.
“We are fully planning to move forward as a better version of our relationship with Tyreek and the Miami Dolphins,” McDaniel said. “I have no reason to think otherwise.”
The Dolphins restructured Hill’s contract before the 2024 season, giving him more guaranteed money. He had wrist surgery earlier this offseason and is expected to return in time for training camp.
