Daniel Muir

Daniel and Kristin Muir are arrested, and Bryson Muir has been found safe as of Wednesday. If you have no idea about the Muir case, we will catch you all up. For anyone who was worried sick about Bryson Muir, the child who has been missing for two weeks, he was found safe. What is it with former NFL players and cults? These two worlds colliding have been a terrible pairing throughout sports history. Let’s get into it!

Bryson Muir Found Healthy

It appears that Bryson Muir’s grandmother, Cheryl Wright, alerted police to Bryson’s welfare. Ms. Wright was alarmed when she saw Bryson’s black eye. She contacted police on June 16th over concerns that Bryson was being abused. His father allegedly confessed to laying hands on his son. The police pulled over Kristin Muir on the 16th, moments after she picked up Bryson, but when they pulled her over, he was not in the vehicle. The police contacted the Muir’s over and over, finally making contact on June 18th.

The Muir’s made an agreement to meet with the Indianapolis State Headquarters last Friday. However, they backed out of the arrangement right before the meeting. This alarmed the police, who immediately issued a “Silver Alert” since June 28th. That is the state’s version of an Amber Alert for all age groups. The parents were assigned a court date for Tuesday, and when they didn’t show up, they had a warrant for their arrests. This led to the SWAT team raid on Wednesday around 6 AM.

Ms. Wright clearly has concerns over the family dynamic. When she spotted the goose egg on her grandson’s face, she attempted to keep him with her. But Bryson wasn’t interested in staying due to possible “brain washing,” according to grandma. She was quoted as saying, “Bryson is so conditioned or brainwashed to their way of living that he wanted to go back. As I tried to get my daughter to leave, he ran out of the house and left with them.” The brainwashing mentioned surrounds the cult that we will discuss later. Bryson is lucky to have a grandma who cares so much.

Who Is Daniel Muir?

Daniel Muir (Photo courtesy of Yahoo Sports). Muir played in the NFL for seven seasons for seven teams.

Muir is a man in trouble right now. He is currently being charged with obstruction of justice and domestic battery. His wife, Kristin, is also facing obstruction charges. It turns out that hiding your child from the police for two weeks will lead you to getting swatted and taken to jail.

But before he put on an orange jumpsuit, Daniel Muir was an NFL player from 2007 to 2013 for seven different franchises. Those teams are the Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts, St. Louis Rams, New York Jets, Kansas City Chiefs, Houston Texans, and Oakland Raiders.

Off the field, Muir was raised with his many siblings by his parents from Jamaica in Lanham, Maryland. Kristin is his high school sweetheart, and they married in 2009. They share their son, Bryson. And now their lives are in flames, and it’s all a very confusing mess. Everything is alleged and developing at this time.

What About The Cult?

Former NFL player Robert Rozier joined the Nation of Yahweh and became a serial killer (Photo courtesy of Cordova High School yearbook “Lancer Legends”).

In a cult 101 move, the parents had their son Bryson take a video in an undisclosed location, saying he was safe. It’s shocking to us all that that didn’t remove all the fears the police had over the teenager’s safety. Allegedly, the family is apart of the ‘Straitway Truth Ministry.’ This group has some beliefs that are scarily similar to the cult Robert Rozier was in. The Nation of Yahweh inspired Rozier to become a serial killer. This author firmly believes that Rozier would never have taken a life had it not been for the Nation.

Sports Illustrated did an extremely in-depth look at the ‘ministry’ in this article in 2020. The biggest red flag about this group is that they know people call them a cult, and they defend why they’re not. As someone who grew up in a cult, this author is aware that this is one of the biggest warning signs.

Besides that, the whole ‘compound,’ secret society vibe thing isn’t making them look any more legit. They have a fun alleged model where they donate all of their life savings and live on compound land that is owned by the ‘ministry,’ and drive the group’s cars. We haven’t seen that before, ever. This group has attracted many former NFL players, like Daniel Muir. Sound off below if you would like more articles written about this group. It goes deep, and there is a lot of ground to cover. Thankfully, Bryson is safe for now with his eagle-eyed grandmother, who protected him. Let’s bring the darkness to the light!
