The 2023 NFL season is officially over. It is draft season! The Miami Dolphins were ravaged by injuries in 2023. While the team showed a ton of promise, the injuries piled up and were too much to overcome. The team will have the trio of Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill, and Jaylan Waddle back next season and will hope for more health on defense. This team does have some cap decisions to make and could be looking for cheap replacements in the draft. Here is the Miami Dolphins 2024 NFL Draft guide.
Miami Dolphins 2024 NFL Draft Picks
The Miami Dolphins have six picks in the 2024 NFL Draft.
- Round 1: No. 21 overall
- Round 2: No. 55 overall
- Round 5: No. 157 overall
- Round 6: No. 186 overall (via Chicago)
- Round 6: No. 200 overall
- Round 7: No. 239 overall
The Miami Dolphins have limited draft capital to work with in 2024. While they own their first and second-round pick, they then have to wait until the fifth round. They lost their third-round pick in the Tom Brady tampering violations. Bradley Chubb was brought in from Denver, and it cost them their fourth-round pick. It puts pressure on getting the first two picks right, as those players are more likely to contribute right away.
Miami Dolphins NFL Draft Needs
The Miami Dolphins need the following positions: OT, IOL, EDGE, DL, CB
The Miami Dolphins have to protect Tagovailoa. They have the receivers to make defenses pay, but routes need time to develop. While injuries played a role last season, it showed the need for depth at the position. Other than the line, they are looking solid offensively.
On defense, this team needs help all over. The defensive line is the most glaring need. They need to be able to pressure the quarterback, especially with the division they are in. Jalen Ramsey is an elite corner, but they need some more depth at the position, especially if veterans get cut for salary cap reasons.
Mock Draft
Mock drafts are done on NFL Mock Draft Database. No trades were executed. Obviously, teams tend to wheel and deal, but this is meant to give a look at what the team can do with the draft capital they currently have.

Mock Draft Analysis
While the Miami Dolphins are one of the most exciting teams in the NFL, this draft is very boring. Their first two picks are spent on offensive linemen, who immediately help the team. Defense is the focus of the latter part of the draft as they look to build depth. The cornerback class is very top-heavy, and there was never an opportunity to grab one.
They don’t completely forget about the offense. Raheem Mostert had an amazing 2023, but touchdowns are a volatile stat (ask Jamaal Williams). Mostert also has an injury history, and building running back depth is never a bad idea. Wright is a solid option out of Tennessee.
The Miami Dolphins hope 2024 is a healthier year for the team. This team is ready to win now but needs their best players to be healthy.
