Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft gave the team a brief scare Thursday when he suffered a knee injury during practice. Kraft was added to the injury report three days before the Packers’ Week 3 matchup against the Cleveland Browns, but tests revealed no major damage.
“Little scare but all good,” per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. “I think he will be OK.”
The Packers will monitor how Kraft’s knee responds on Friday before making a final call on his availability.
Packers Already Dealing With Key Injuries
The potential absence of Kraft comes at a time when quarterback Jordan Love is already down multiple weapons. Receiver Jayden Reed landed on injured reserve after breaking his collarbone and undergoing foot surgery, while Christian Watson remains on the physically unable to perform list as he continues recovering from an ACL tear in January.
That leaves Green Bay possibly without three of its top targets against a Browns defense that ranks among the NFL’s best.
Kraft’s Hot Start to 2025
Kraft has been one of Green Bay’s most reliable playmakers so far this season. He leads the team in receptions (eight), yards (140) and touchdowns (two) through two games. He is also coming off his best career performance — a six-catch, 124-yard outing against Washington in Week 2.
The third-round pick from 2023 has not missed a game in his young NFL career, but his Week 3 status remains in doubt. If Kraft is sidelined, the Packers will likely lean on Luke Musgrave, who caught two passes for 32 yards last week, along with John FitzPatrick.
What’s Next
The Packers face the Browns on Sunday before traveling to Dallas in Week 4. With a bye week looming after that, the team could opt to play it safe with Kraft if there’s any lingering concern.
For now, the early signs suggest the knee injury was more of a scare than a setback for one of Green Bay’s rising stars.
