Though Super Bowl LIX may be a distant memory to many football fans, it is surely fresh on the minds of the Kansas City Chiefs players and staff. The Chiefs endured a brutal thrashing at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles, losing by 18 points. Now, it’s time for Kansas City to look ahead to the 2025 season and how they can reclaim the Lombardi Trophy. With four picks in the top 100 of this year’s draft, the Kansas City Chiefs are set up to reload an already talented roster. In this mock draft, the Kansas City Chiefs bring in a new era of young talent.

Kansas City Chiefs Mock Draft

Round 1, Pick 31: Josh Conerly Jr., Oregon OT

There’s no questioning which position is Kansas City’s most pressing need. The Chiefs offensive line struggled mightily in the Super Bowl, allowing Patrick Mahomes to be sacked six times. Whether it’s through free agency or the draft, Kansas City must add a talented offensive tackle.

Oregon offensive lineman Josh Conerly Jr. is viewed as one of the best pure offensive tackles in this year’s draft class. Conerly Jr. earned First-Team All-American honors this year, allowing just nine sacks. He is a talented pass protector who could cover the blindside for Mahomes for years to come.

Round 2, Pick 63: Elijah Arroyo, Miami TE

Travis Kelce recently announced his plans to return for the 2025 NFL season. Even at this point in his career, Kelce can perform at a high level in the playoffs. Still, the Chiefs are in need of a succession plan for the future Hall-of-Famer. Enter, Elijah Arroyo.

The Miami tight end has had limited production throughout his collegiate career, but he has shown flashes as a vertical threat. Arroyo is a dangerous athlete with a large frame. While his route running and zone navigation aren’t at Travis Kelce’s level, he is fairly refined for a player his age. If the Kansas City Chiefs draft Elijah Arroyo, they’ll have a smooth off-ramp from Kelce.

Round 3, Pick 66: Omar Norman-Lott, Tennessee DT

Though Chris Jones is a few years younger than Travis Kelce, the Chiefs need to add young talent on the interior defensive line as well. Both Tershawn Wharton and Derrick Nnadi are impending free agents, leaving a massive gap at the position. Drafting Tennessee defensive tackle Omar Norman-Lott would be a major step toward filling that need.

Omar Norman-Lott is a somewhat polarizing prospect. He was staggeringly efficient as a pass rusher at Tennessee, but he never got significant playing time. In the third round, the Chiefs could afford to take a swing on a player with this high of a ceiling. While Norman-Lott would not completely solve Kansas City’s need on the interior defensive line, he could become a star on this defense.

Round 3, Pick 95: Jeffrey Bassa, Oregon LB

Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton is set to hit free agency. If Kansas City lets Bolton walk, they could look to the draft to replace him. While Oregon linebacker Jeffrey Bassa shows a different play style than Bolton, he could be ready to contribute to the Chiefs defense from day one.

Jeffrey Bassa is slightly undersized for a linebacker, having switched over from safety early in his collegiate career. Bassa excels in coverage, finding passing lanes consistently. With Bassa’s impressive instincts as a blitzer, Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo could use him as a versatile weapon.
