A recent court ruling has mandated Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to take a paternity test in response to a legal dispute with a 27-year-old woman who claims the billionaire is her biological father.
Background of the Legal Dispute
According to a report from ESPN, a Texas judge on Wednesday rejected Jones’ appeal of a 2022 ruling in a paternity case brought by Alexandra Davis. Davis alleged that her mother, Cyathia Davis conceived her during her relationship with Jones in the mid-1990s.
Jones’s legal team is challenging the constitutionality of a Texas law that would require genetic testing in this case.
Lawsuit Details: Cynthia Davis vs. Jerry Jones
In March 2022, Davis filed a lawsuit against Jones in Dallas County, seeking to nullify a legal agreement that Cynthia Davis purportedly made with Jones two years after Alexandra’s birth. The 1998 settlement allegedly stipulated that Jones would provide financial support under the condition that they refrain from publicly acknowledging his paternity—a claim Jones, a married man, has denied.
Davis later dropped the initial lawsuit, opting instead to prove Jones’s paternity through a separate case.
Jones and his wife, Gene, married in 1963 and have three children, all involved in the Cowboys organization. Jerry Jones, 81, is the team president and general manager.
Davis’s original lawsuit asserted that Jones “pursued” Cynthia Davis, who was also married at the time, after they met while she worked for American Airlines in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Financial Terms: Alleged Settlement Details
Their alleged settlement purportedly included financial terms, with Jones agreeing to pay Cynthia Davis $375,000 and Alexandra Davis receiving financial support from a trust until age 21, along with lump sum payments at ages 24, 26, and 28.
According to court documents, Jones’s attorneys claim that Alexandra Davis has already received “millions of dollars” from Jones over her lifetime.
