Heisman Watch

It’s Jeanty’s award to lose at this point. Even with Travis Hunter making a late push, Jeanty is still the favorite to bring home the Heisman. The most prestigious individual award in sports.

Heisman Leaders

1. Ashton Jeanty, Boise State, Running Back, Junior

In the Broncos win over San Jose State Jeanty had 32 carries for 159 yards and three touchdowns. Jeanty has Boise State poised to win the Mountain West, make the playoffs, and have a Heisman winner all in the same season. So far, he has 256 carries for 1,893 yards and 27 total touchdowns.

2. Travis Hunter, Colorado, Wide Receiver/ Cornerback, Junior

Hunter was modest at receiver with five catches for 55 yards but had a rushing touchdown and an interception. He certainly added to his Heisman highlight reel and his fantastic junior season and is keeping stride with other Heisman contenders.

This year he has 74 catches for 911 yards and 10 total touchdowns on offense. He has 23 tackles, eight passes defended, one forced fumble (that won a game in overtime), and three interceptions on defense.

3. Cameron Ward, Miami, Quarterback, Senior

I’m not sure Cam Ward can come back to win the Heisman with only Wake Forest and Syracuse left on the schedule. With the possibility of SMU or Clemson in the ACC Championship game. Still, he’s having the best season of any quarterback in college football this year. In 2024 he is 244 of 36 for 3,494 yards and 36 total touchdowns.

4. Bryson Daily, Army, Quarterback, Senior

His incredible stats remain 174 carries for 1,062 yards and 21 touchdowns. He also is 29 of 51 for 644 yards and seven passing touchdowns. I don’t know if he can win the Heisman, but he should at least have the honor of being a finalist.

5. Dylan Sampson, Tennessee, Running Back, Junior

Sampson’s Heisman candidacy needed the Vols to beat Georgia to have a shot staying in the forefront. He had 19 carries for 101 yards and a touchdown but it wasn’t enough. Tennessee lost 31-17. He has 220 carries for 1,230 yards and 21 touchdowns this season.
