The 2023 NFL season is officially over. It is draft season! The Dallas Cowboys 2023 season ended in heartbreak yet again. However, the sky isn’t falling in Dallas. Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb are one of the best QB-WR duos in the league. Micah Parsons is a top-five defensive player in the NFL. This team has talent. With the right draft, this team will be favorites in the NFC East in 2024. Here is the Dallas Cowboys 2024 NFL Draft guide.
Dallas Cowboys 2024 NFL Draft Picks
The Dallas Cowboys have seven picks in the 2024 NFL Draft.
- Round 1: No. 24 overall
- Round 2: No. 56 overall
- Round 3: No. 87 overall
- Round 5: No. 173 overall
- Round 6: No. 213 overall
- Round 7: No. 231 overall (via Las Vegas)
- Round 7: No. 242 overall
The Dallas Cowboys are lucky they are getting some compensatory picks. They do not own their fifth, sixth, or seventh-round picks, thanks to trades for Trey Lance, Brandin Cooks, and Eric Scott Jr. Three picks in the top 100 are solid. It gives the team the ability to get some top-tier talent in the draft.
Dallas Cowboys NFL Draft Needs
The Dallas Cowboys need the following positions: OT, CB, IOL, WR, DL
The Dallas Cowboys need some help in the trenches. Their offensive line is getting older, and they need an infusion of young talent. I would expect the team to try and find some late-round offensive linemen to coach up over the next year or two. Dallas picked Mazi Smith in the first round last year to help the defensive line, but he struggled. Look for them to spend a higher pick to help Parsons.
The Cowboys also need another wide receiver. Lamb is an elite talent, and Cooks is a great complementary piece. Michael Gallup was supposed to be the third guy, but he hasn’t looked the same since his injury.
Mock Draft
Mock drafts are done on NFL Mock Draft Database. No trades were executed. Obviously, teams tend to wheel and deal, but this is meant to give a look at what the team can do with the draft capital they currently have.

- Round 5: No. 173 overall Beau Brade S Maryland
- Round 6: No. 213 overall J.D. Bertrand LB Notre Dame

Mock Draft Analysis
Jerry Jones decides to do the smart thing and build the trenches of the Dallas Cowboys. Jackson Power-Johnson could be the next great Cowboys lineman. From there, Hall Jr. and the pair out of LSU give the team young talent to try and build up to be in the rotation.
In this mock draft, no wide receiver fell, but I do think there is good value in the third and fourth rounds of this draft. Jalen McMillan had a great season for Washington. The Huskies had one of the best offenses in the country behind Michael Penix Jr. Dallas likes to throw it and McMillan could see a lot of one-on-one matchups with Lamb being the focal point for the passing game.
The Dallas Cowboys are so close. They have a talented roster but cannot get over the hump. Will 2024 finally be their year?
