Week one of the college football season had audiences captivated by the game between the Colorado Buffaloes and the TCU Horned Frogs. The Buffaloes were able to walk away with a big win, one that college football fans are still talking about. This week, Deion Sanders’ Buffaloe’s will take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Here is a look at if Colorado can pull off another win in week two.

Colorado Players to Watch

Shedeur Sanders

There was some doubt regarding quarterback Shedeur Sanders. Many had the belief that he only got the position because he is the coach’s son. While that may be true to an extent, he definitely exceeded expectations in week one. In the game, Sanders completed 38 passes out of 47 attempts for 510 yards and four touchdowns, according to ESPN. To pass for over 500 yards and four touchdowns in his first game with this team is a big deal, especially with not throwing any interceptions. Fans should watch to see if Sanders can do it again this weekend.

Travis Hunter

Travis Hunter may have been the star of the show, and that says a lot considering Sanders’ stats. Hunter is a solid receiver, but he is also a really good defensive back. Some people are wondering when he will stick to just one, and that question makes sense. Playing two positions can lead to a higher possibility of injuries, but for now, Colorado is benefiting a great deal from Hunter. In the game, Hunter had 11 receptions for 119 yards, according to ESPN. He was a big target, but also a clutch defender. As a defensive back, he had a crazy interception that prevented TCU from scoring. Everyone should watch to see how he is utilized, and if he can score as a receiver this weekend.

Dylan Edwards

Wide receiver, Dylan Edwards is a freshman running back who had himself a game. More people should be talking about him, in inclusion to the other players that are being discussed. In the game, Edwards had five receptions for 135 yards and three receiving touchdowns, according to ESPN. Three receiving touchdowns in one game is big, but he also had six carries for 24 yards and one rushing touchdown. Four touchdowns in one game as a freshman is big, and it will be exciting to see what he can do next.

How to Defeat Nebraska

If the defense for the Buffaloes plays how they did last week, the team should not have any difficulty defending against Nebraska. They need to stay disciplined and play their game. Given who their coach is, that should be no problem. Sanders told them to enjoy the win, but knowing what he did in his career, these players should be just fine staying focused.

Last weekend, the Nebraska Cornhuskers were limited to 114 passing yards, according to ESPN. It was a slow game offensively, and if Colorado picks up the energy early, they should be able to prevent any momentum by Nebraska.

Nebraska’s defense did get three sacks last weekend, and an interception. Both of those aspects will be something to watch for. If Sanders is able to keep moving and not let the defense touch him, the Colorado offense should be fine. The key to winning will be scoring early, and then controlling the game. If they can win the time of possession, Colorado should be able to win the game.

The game between Colorado and Nebraska will take place on Saturday at 12 p.m. Eastern. It will also be Colorado’s first home game of the season.
