BYU vs TCU is this Saturday at 3:30 pm EST on ESPN. This is another big game for BYU and one that should be a win if they have a solid game that they can execute.
BYU
Offense
BYU offense can’t miss a beat when they head to Fort Worth to take on TCU. Their run game has to be a big part of the game and it can’t be losing yards left and right. This part of the game has struggled all season, but that has to change, and the coaches think they have figured it out. Saturday will prove whether they have got it figured out or not. The Cougars passing game hasn’t always been at peak performance every game this year either but that also has to change. The passing game must be ready to make plays on every down and every drive.
Defense
The BYU defense is a force to reckon with. BYU’s line is ready to return to hitting and make the quarterback leave the pocket. The Cougar linebackers will have to step up and fill the role of Ben Bywater as he will miss another week with a shoulder injury. BYU’s cornerbacks have to stay on these receivers and make plays on the ball to cause turnovers.
Special Teams
The special teams have to be the unit to continue to have complete games. This week that will look like keeping the Horned Frogs behind the 20-yard line. They also have to make points when the offense struggles to put it in the endzone.
TCU
TCU plays in Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth Texas. BYU and TCU have met 66 times on the gridiron and the last won was in 2011 in Arlington.
Offense
This TCU offense has seen the light at the end of its tunnel and is heading in the right direction. Last week against Iowa State they had their worst game offense of the season. They also lost Chandler Morris at QB so they will have backup in.
Defense
They don’t have a solid defense and struggled to stop offenses in the red zone. BYU will have to take advantage of this and put up a big game.
