BYU vs Cincinnati the Cougars head home to take on the Bearcats. They will be looking for a win after suffering their first loss this past weekend. This game is at 10:15 pm EST on ESPN on Friday night.
BYU
Offense
BYU Offense hasn’t had a complete game all season long. They need to put it all together here to get the win. First, the Cougar run game has to put up yards and help move the ball down the field. They haven’t put up more than like 80 yards per game and last week was just disappointing for the run game. The Cougars must find a balance between the run and pass game to help keep the defense off the field—more first downs and more big plays that are more than 15 yards. Finally don’t turn the ball over last week they turned it over three times. To keep Cincinnati off the field and out of good field position they have to hold onto the ball.
Defense
This Cougar defense is still doing good. Last week was a test and they proved to pass it. They did struggle to stop the run game so that needs to be fixed this week. They also need to not let the wide receivers get free and keep Cincinnati limited to short passes. The defensive line could’ve been tougher last week so they need to fix that and not let the Bearcats push them around. Finally, when the Cougars have won games this year the defense has gotten turnovers. This defense needs to cause turnovers and give the offense the ball back in great field position.
Special Teams
The special team needs to give the offense a better field position. They also need to keep the other team pinned back behind the 20-yard line to help the defense out.
Cincinnati
Cincinnati is from Cincinnati Ohio and they play in Nippert Stadium. The last time these two teams met on the Gridirion they met in Cincinnati and the Cougars came away with that win 20-3.
Offense
The Bearcat offense has struggled most of the season. They can’t yards besides off their run game. When they do throw the ball usually the wide receivers have to go up and get it. Finally, they struggle in the red zone.
Defense
This Cincinnati is big and has some fast safeties. The line is big but not quick to the quarterback. They struggle to stop the passing game and slow down that part of the game. If the run game gets past the line they give up more yards than most defensive’s would.
