BYU Running Backs will have their work cut out for them this season. No one stuck out last year so it’s time someone steps up and shines brightly for this position in 2024. This will be another big position battle in the fall camp for BYU.
LJ Martin
LJ Martin is a 6-2 225 lbs sophomore from El Paso, Texas. Last season Martin played in 10 games has 109 attempts for 518 yards and four touchdowns. He will be the starter for the Cougars this season. He will slightly edge out Davis at the end of fall camp and be the starting BYU Running back for the year.
Miles Davis
Davis is a 6-0 215 lbs junior from Las Vegas, Nevada. He started at BYU in 2020 where he played in four games and had 96 yards on 15 attempts and two touchdowns. During the 2021 season, he played in two games and had negative seven yards on one attempt. In the 2022 season, he played in eight games and had 225 yards on 40 attempts. Last season he played in five games and had 78 yards on 16 attempts. Davis will be number two for the Cougars unless he gets lucky and edges out Martin or injuries occur.
Hinckley Ropati
Hinckley Ropati is a 5-9 220 lbs senior from Downey, California. In 2021 he played in five games and had 15 yards on four attempts. During the 2022 season, he played in nine games and had 189 yards on 36 attempts and one touchdown. Ropati has a strong hold on third unless the others stand out during fall camp or one of the practices early on in the season.
Enoch Nawahine
Nawahine is a 5-10 205 lbs junior from Kahuku, Hawaii, and a transfer from Utah State. Last season he played in 11 games and had one attempt for one yard. His production last season is why I have him at number four for the BYU Running Backs.

Pokaiaua Haunga
Haunga is a 5-11 200 lbs freshman from Orem, Utah.
