BYU is facing another battle for a starting quarterback. This comes after Kedon Slovis had one year with the Cougars. The one who can step up will need to not be here for a year but longer. As a Big 12 school, BYU can’t have a revolving door of the main leader of the offense.
Jake Retzlaff
Jake Retzlaff is a 6-1 205 lbs junior BYU quarterback from Corona, California. He has played in four games for the Cougars and has 63 completions for 648 yards and three touchdowns. Retzlaff should be the starter for the fight he showed Cougar Nation last fall when Slovis was injured and so was half the offense. He is ready for a full season with BYU as their starting quarterback and also ready to step up against the Big 12 defense.
Gerry Bohanon
Bohanon is a 6-3 225 lbs Senior quarterback from Earle, Arkansas. He is a transfer from South Florida and may or may not step foot on the field for the Cougars this season. Bohanon would be a great starter but that is no way to build an offense off of transfer quarterbacks who used to be able to play ball. He can be the backup and be there when Retzlaff needs help.
Cade Fennegan
Cade Fennegan is a 6-2 195 lbs junior quarterback from Dallas, Texas. He transferred from Boise State two seasons ago. Fennegan has played in one game as a Cougar and has zero passing stats. Fennegan is a great third-stringer or if he fights enough in fall camp beat out Bohanon for the second string.
Nick Billoups
Billoups is a 6-1 200 lbs Junior Quarterback from San Clemente, California. He has not seen the field for the Cougars yet.
Cole Hagen
Cole Hagen is a 6-1 190 lbs freshman quarterback from Draper, Utah. He will play for BYU if he can stick it out and fight his way to the top.
Treyson Bourguet
Bourguet is a 6-2 200 lbs sophomore quarterback from Tucson, Arizona. He is a transfer from Western Michigan and most likely won’t see the field this season as a Cougar.
Dane Christensen
Dane Christensen is a 6-2 200 lbs freshman quarterback from Queen Creek, Arizona. He will one day suit up for the Cougars if he can stick around through the transfer portal fiasco.
Micah Fe’a
Fe’a is a 6-4 240 lbs freshman quarterback from Orem, Utah. He will probably in a year or two make the switch to wide receiver or tight end due to his size.
Noah Lugo
Noah Lugo is a 6-2 195 lbs freshman quarterback from Haslet, Texas. He has to bulk up a little bit before he suits up as a quarterback for BYU because of the size of the other team’s offensive lines.
