The NFL season is upon us so lets take a look at where these former BYU players are taking snaps. Many of these players have jumped around the league and have had many homes. Others have found one place to call home. Some players are still looking for a team this season.

Arizona Cardinals

Ty’Son Williams RB

Williams played for BYU in 2019 and played in 4 games before getting hurt. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Ravens. He has been with the Ravens, Colts, and now the Cardinals. Last season he played in one game for the Cardinals. Williams will suit up for the Cardinals on the 11th against the Broncos.

Atlanta Falcons

Tyler Allgeier RB

Playing for BYU from 2018-2021 after a breakout season in 2022 he was drafted in the 5th round of the draft. He played in 16 games with 210 carriers for 1,035 yards and three touchdowns. Allgeier will be the starting running back for the Falcons this season after his star performance as a rookie. He will take his first snaps this year on the 11th against the Dolphins.

Buffalo Bills

Zayne Anderson FS

Anderson played for BYU from 2015-2020. After his time at BYU, he went undrafted and was picked up by the Chiefs. He played in zero games in 2022. Anderson will suit up on the 12th against the Colts.

Carolina Panthers

Brady Christensen OL

Christensen played for the Cougars from 2017-2020. He was drafted in round 3 of the 2021 NFL draft by the Panthers. Last season he played in all 17 games for the Panthers last season. Christensen will play on the 12th against the Jets.

Cleveland Browns

Sione Takitaki LB

Takitaki played for BYU from 2014-2018 the Browns drafted him at number 80 in the 2019 draft. He played in 12 games with 71 tackles, one sack, and one fumble. Takitaki is returning from an injury that ended his 2022 season so look for him to take limited snaps in the preseason. The Browns will play tonight against the Jets.

Dallas Cowboys

D’Angelo Mandell S

Mandell was a Cougar from 2017-2022 and went undrafted to the Cowboys. In 2022 he had 18 tackles, and one pass break up.

Green Bay Packers

James Empey C

Empey played for BYU from 2017-2021 and went undrafted in 2022 to the Cowboys after suffering an ankle injury his senior year that ended his year. He has been on the Cowboys, Dolphins, Titans and now the Packers roster. Empey didn’t suit up last season. Empey will be playing against the Bengals on the 11th.

Indianapolis Colts

Blake Freeland OL

Freeland played for BYU from 2019-2022 and was drafted in the fourth round to the Colts. Last Season he played in all 13 games.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Kaleb Hayes DB

Hayes was a Cougar from 2021-2022 and was an undrafted free agent. In 2022 he played in 12 games with 41 tackles and 19 pass break ups.

Kansas City Chiefs

Matt Bushman

Bushman played for BYU from 2017-2020. When he finished up his career at BYU he went and signed with the Las Vegas Raiders. He has spent time on the Raiders and the Chiefs rosters. Bushman played in no games last year. He will play on the 13th against the Saints.

Los Angeles Chargers

Michael Davis

Davis played for BYU from 2013-2016. After not being drafted he signed with the Chargers in 2017 and has played for the ever since. Last Season he played in all 17 games with 62 tackles, one sack, and one interception. He will be seen on the field against the Rams on the 12th.

Los Angeles Rams

Puka Nacua WR

Nacua played from 2021-2022 as a Cougar. Last season he had 834 all purpose yards and 10 touchdowns in nine games.

Miami Dolphins

Chris Brooks RB

Brooks was a Cougar in 2022. He played in 11 games and rushed for 817 yards and six touchdowns.

Minnesota Vikings

Jaren Hall QB

Hall was a Cougar from 2018-2022. In his final season he threw for 3,171 yards, 31 touchdowns, and six interceptions.

Khyiris Tonga DL

Tonga played for BYU from 2017-2020 and got drafted by the Bears in round 7 of the 2021 draft. He played in 11 games for the Vikings last season and had 28 tackles. Tonga will take the field on the 10th against the Seahawks.

New Orleans Saints

Taysom Hill QB

Hill played for BYU from 2012-2016. He was picked up by the Packers and played in the preseason for them. After that, he went to the Saints and played in positions. Last Season he played in many positions and in 16 games with nine receptions, 77 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 96 carriers with 575 yards, and seven touchdowns. Hill also threw for 13 completions for 240 yards and two touchdowns. He will play on the 13th against the Chiefs.

Jamaal Williams RB

Williams played for BYU from 2012-2014 and then in 2016, after finishing his career at BYU he got drafted by the Packers in round 4 of the 2017 draft. He has been around the league suiting up for the Packers, Lions, and will play this season for the Saints. Williams played in all 17 games last season with 262 carriers for 1,066 yards, and 17 touchdowns. He will suit up for the Saints against the Chiefs on the 13th.

New York Jets

Zach Wilson QB

Wilson played for the Cougars from 2018-2020. After having a breakout 2020 season he was drafted by the Jets as number 2 in the 2021 NFL draft. Last season he played in nine games with 132 completions for 1,688 yards and six touchdowns. He also rushed for 28 carriers with 102 yards and one touchdown. Wilson will start tonight against the Browns in the Hall of fame game.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Chris Wilcox DB

Wilcox played for BYU from 2016-2020 playing 9 games in 2020 he got drafted in the 7th round of the 2021 draft by the Buccaneers. Following his short time with the Buccaneers, he went and sat on practice squads for a couple of teams before being picked up by the Colts. He has yet to play a game in the NFL. Wilcox may get his chance on the 11th against the Buccaneers.

San Francisco 49ers

Fred Warner

Warner played for the Cougars from 2014-2017. After his time playing lights-out football for the Cougars, he went in the 3rd round of the 2018 draft to the 49ers where he has played ever since. Last Season he played in all 17 games with 130 tackles, two sacks, one fumble, and one interception. The 49ers will play on the 13th against the Raiders.

Washington Commanders

Dax Milne

Milne played for BYU from 2018-2020. After having a great 2020 season catching passes from Zach Wilson, he went on to be drafted by the Commanders in round 7 of the 2021 NFL draft. Last Season he played in 15 games with six receptions for 37 yards and one touchdown. He also returned punts for 40 attempts for 311 yards. Milne also returned on kickoffs for 15 attempts for 300 yards. He will play on the 11th against the Browns.
