BYU Football starts fall camp this week and in 25 days kicks off against Southern Illinois. This group is pretty solid with the fact that not many left the team after last season. It will be great to have Micah Harper back this year and put some beef in the backfield. The Cougars have some time to work on who will join him in the next 25 days.

Micah Harper

Micah Harper is a 5-10 195 lbs junior from Chandler, Arizona. His first year in 2020 he played in 11 games and had 25 tackles and one pass deflection. The following year he played in all 13 games and had 62 tackles, two forced fumbles, and three pass deflections. In 2023 he didn’t play due to an injury in fall camp. This year he is back and ready to lead the safeties once again.

Talan Alfrey

Alfrey is a 6-2 205 lbs junior from Auburn, Washington. In his first season with BYU Football, he played in one game. The next year he suited up in all 13 games and had 41 tackles, three pass deflections, and one interception. Last year he played in three games and had 16 tackles. He will see a good chunk of playing time this season against these Big 12 defenses.

Ethan Slade

Ethan Slade is a 6-0 195 lbs junior from Orem, Utah. His first season in 2021 he played in two games and had one tackle. The following season he played in 11 games and had 17 tackles and one pass deflection. Last season he played in 11 games and had 60 tackles, four pass deflections, and one interception. Slade will see his fair share of time as well after the season he had last year.

Crew Wakely

Wakely is a 6-0 200 lbs junior from Sandy, Utah, and a Utah State transfer. Last season he played in all 12 games and had 59 tackles, seven pass deflections, and one interception. Wakley will be seen on the field at every game this year after what he did last year and also will continue to adapt to Jay Hill’s defense.

Preston Rex

Preston Rex is a 6-0 195 lbs sophomore from San Clemente, California. In 2022 his first season he played in two games and had one pass deflection. Last year he played in nine games and had 17 tackles.

Chika Ebunoha

Ebunoha is a 6-0 190 lbs sophomore from Tucson, Arizona. In his first year in 2022, he played in five games and had one tackle. Last year he played in seven games and had three tackles.

Tanner Wall

Tanner Wall is a 6-1 200 lbs junior from Arlington, Virginia. In 2021 he played in two games and posted zero stats. The following season he played in 11 games and had one tackle. Last year he played in five games and had 22 tackles.

Raider Damuni

Damuni is a 6-1 200 lbs sophomore from Provo, Utah. Last year he played in 11 games and had 21 tackles, one forced fumble, and one pass deflection.

Petey Tuipulotu

Petey Tuipulotu is a 6-3 205 lbs sophomore from Fort Mill, South Carolina. He has not played in a game yet for BYU Football.

Koa Eldredge

Eldredge is a 5-11 200 lbs sophomore from Honolulu, Hawaii, and will make the move to safety this year. Last year he was a receiver for the Cougars.

Malae Tanuvasa

Malae Tanuvasa is a 6-0 190 lbs freshman from Highland, Utah.

Tommy Prassas

Prassas is a 6-2 190 lbs freshman from Chandler, Arizona

Payton VanSteenkiste

Payton VanSteenkiste is a 5-11 195 lbs freshman from Rigby, Idaho.

Matthias Leach

Leach is a 6-3 175 lbs freshman from Fort Worth, Texas.

Faletau Satuala

Faletau Satuala is a 6-4 200 lbs freshman from Bountiful, Utah.
