BYU Football has been at fall camp for two weeks now, and there have already been some big events. They have had some scuffles at practice, a player retires, and two announce they are eligible for this season. The team has also done photo day for this upcoming season.
With this new season underway, the Cougars are seeing a different kind of energy in the building. They are also seeing the excitement of being back and also playing their first season in the Big 12. They have now done a week in a pad and had their first scrimmage at Lavell Edwards Stadium. BYU Football will only get better and be able to make more plays as they have moved into pads to continue fall camp. The team has said this is the most physical camp they have been a part of at BYU.
Offense
This offense is cooking up something that will win them games come Sept 2nd. The O line has been great at opening up holes for the running backs and protecting the quarterbacks. The Wide receivers have been keeping drives alive with their great hands. Aidan Robbins will be the tone-setter for the Cougars on the offense. Isaac Rex has had some nice high-point catches downfield. Slovis to Hill will be a deadly combo all season long. Dom Henry made a nice catch this Saturday during the scrimmage.
Defense
This BYU Football defense has made some great improvements on and off the field. Jay Hill just keeps throwing the playbook at them and they keep finding ways for Hill to challenge them. The Defensive line Coach is excited about how the line is improving and wants them to be their best every day. The Defensive backs have been making great ball breaks to get the offense off the field. Mory Bamba has made some nice pass break-ups and could be seen as a starter this fall. Talan Alfrey is a ball hawk after making two interceptions last week.
Special Teams
The special team is shaping up nicely and will be a great side of Cougar football. Will Ferrin was seen making a nice field goal during the scrimmage. Ryan Rehkow is still booting it down the field to make the offense work back down it.
