Colorado is jumping the PAC-12 ship and rejoining the Big 12 in 2024. After the news yesterday that the Big 12 presidents had invited Colorado back to the Big 12 Colorado met today to accept the invite.
Colorado has been with the Pac-12 since 2010. The move to the Pac-12 proved to be disappointing for the Buffaloes and their fan base. This move for them will be big as they look to rebuild the brand in Colorado. The Chancellor and the AD of Colorado made this comment about the move to the Big 12.
They are excited for this move because it brings them a lot things including stability and they share of the Big 12 vision for the student athletes.
The Big 12 president Brett Yormack said this in a statement after they accepted the invite “They’re Back”. He is excited to have Colorado back and this means he is holding to what he said at Big 12 media day when he said the conference will stay at 14 teams. The presidents of the Big 12 voted yesterday and were in meetings yesterday as they discussed Colorado rejoining the conference. The vote was unanimous amongst the Big 12 presidents.
Colorado is a great add to the conference in many sports not just football. The women’s sports has a strong background in winning events. They bring in a good culture, some great history, and great coaches with amazing values. With this addition of Colorado the Big 12 will be back up to 13 teams and looking to add one more in the next couple of years.
Below is what the fellow Big 12 members have to say about the Buffaloes joining the Big 12 next fall.
