Famous boxer Ryan Garcia has been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately. His arrest on June 8th in Beverly Hills, California, takes the cake. It’s truly unfortunate that Garcia seems to be spiraling downward since his win against Devin Haney on April 20th has been contested. Hopefully, he will be able to get the help he needs before things get worse. We all want Ryan Garcia to be the best version of himself.

Famous Boxer Ryan Garcia Arrested

On Saturday, June 8th, boxer Ryan Garcia was arrested at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Beverly Hills, California. He was arrested for felony vandalism, although, of course, he has not been legally charged with anything yet. Garcia was arrested Saturday afternoon. TMZ was the first to break the news with a video of the shirtless boxer being led away in handcuffs and a helmet, with his tattoo on his back. According to TMZ witnesses, there were nearly a dozen police officers outside of the hotel responding to the call.

Allegedly, Garcia damaged his room and the hallway in the Beverly Hills hotel. It seemed that he was allegedly under the influence of some substance(s) while damaging his abode. He did not put up a fight with the police, thankfully. Any damages over $400 can be considered a felony in California, so hopefully Garcia didn’t make too much of a mess. $400 won’t go far in this economy.

It appears that this was not the first time that the boxer interacted with the police at that particular hotel. Allegedly, Garcia’s family called for a welfare check on Ryan on Wednesday, June 5th, because they feared he needed assistance. The police indicated Ryan Garcia was fine. However, things escalated, and the hotel cut the boxer off from drinking as he allegedly continued to act out.

Garcia Struggling With Contested Win

Before we continue, make sure to check here for even more exciting boxing articles on The Forkball! Although boxer Ryan Garcia likely struggled prior to his April 20th win against Devin Haney being contested, it’s impossible to say when he started experiencing trouble coping. An event can often trigger pre-existing problems, which may have been the case for Ryan. He has been in the headlines more recently since his win was contested.

Why was Ryan’s win contested? His A and B urine samples all tested positive for ostarine. Initially, Garcia claimed he never took any PEDs; however, with the B samples also coming back positive, it is hard to deny the evidence. The results of the win have not yet been overturned at this time.

Garcia’s ‘doping control form’ included his positive test results and findings that indicate two supplements he took had ostarine present in them. The potential presence of PEDs in Ryan’s supplements is hotly contested, including alleged potential contaminated evidence due to a lack of chain of custody and the samples already being open.

The boxer is currently being represented by attorney Paul Greene, who is hoping for a suspension of four months or less. If you think you’ve heard of this attorney before, it’s because he has represented Jon Jones and Sean O’Malley in doping cases previously. Ryan Garcia hired the right man for the job. Hopefully, Garcia can find peace and help sooner rather than later.
