Big 12 Football kicked off with the rest of college football last week. There were some big wins and some surprising losses for the conference. Below are the rankings for what CBS Sports has listed and then next to them will be the AP rankings. For now, it will be based on one game and then next week some movement will happen as teams play their second game.

BYU

BYU beat Sam Houston State 14-0. Next week the Cougars take on SUU at home on ESPN+ at 3 pm EST. They will look to go 2-0 before taking on the rest of their Power 5 schedule.

Cincinnati

The Bearcats had a huge victory over Eastern Kentucky with the final score being 66-13. Cincinnati goes to Pittsburgh on Saturday and will kick off at 6:30 p.m. EST. The Bearcats should take this win and head into the final week of non-conference play 3-0

Houston

Houston won their home opener over the Roadrunners and beat them 17-14. The Cougars will go to Rice and play on NFL Network at 7 pm EST. Houston should walk away with this win and go 2-0.

Iowa State

The Cyclones won their first game and home opener against the Panthers with the final score being 30-9. Iowa State will be at home to take on rival Iowa on Fox at 3:30 pm EST. The Cyclones should have an easy win over Iowa and be 2-0.

Kansas

Kansas had a huge win Friday night when they beat Missouri State 48-17. The Jayhawks will take on Illinois at home on Friday at 7:30 pm EST on ESPN. Kansas will have to fight this week and may go 1-1 on the season.

#16 Kansas State

Kansas State was the second school to put up a shutout on opening weekend. The Wildcats won 45-0 over Southeast Missouri. They will stay at home and take on Troy on Saturday on Fox at noon EST. Kansas State should have an easy win on Saturday but Troy may put up a good fight. They should be 2-0 after this game but we shall see.

#20 Oklahoma

The Sooners were the third Big 12 school to produce another shutout. Oklahoma beat Arkansas State 73-0 on Saturday. This week they will be at home against SMU at 6 pm EST on ESPN+. The Sooners probably won’t win this game SMU has a good team and will send Oklahoma packing at 1-1.

Oklahoma State

Oklahoma State won their home opener when they beat out Central Arkansas with a final score of 27-13. This Saturday they take on Arizona State on FS1 at 10:30 pm EST. This will be a good game and show what Arizona State will bring to the Big 12 but the Cowboys will come away with the victory making them 2-0.

#11 Texas

The Longhorns opened their season with a 37-10 victory over Rice. Texas will be at Alabama on Saturday and will play on ESPN at 6 p.m. EST. The Longhorns will lose to Alabama again this season in the final minutes and go 1-1.

UCF

UCF played Thursday night and took the 56-6 victory over Kent State. The Knights will head to Boise State to take on the Broncos on FS1 at 7 p.m. EST. UCF will beat the Broncos and go 2-0 on the season.

Baylor

The Bears lost their home opener to Texas State with the final score being 31-42. Baylor brings in Utah on Saturday at noon EST on ESPN. The Bears should come away with the win but Utah may sneak out of Wayco with the win.

#17 TCU

TCU lost in the final minutes to Colorado on Saturday. They lost 42-45 in a shootout with the Buffaloes. TCU brings in Nicholls on Saturday at 8 p.m. EST on ESPN+. This will be an easy victory for the Horned Frogs.

Texas Tech

The Red Raiders lost to Wyoming 33-35 in double overtime the other night. Texas Tech will look to bounce back against Oregon on Fox at 7 pm EST. The Red Raiders should get this win and go into week three 1-1.

West Virginia

West Virginia lost to Penn State 15-38 on Saturday. They head home on Saturday to play Duquesne on ESPN+ at 6 pm EST. The Mountaineers will win this game and be 1-1 on the season.
