Big 12 Football 2024 will be exciting with 16 teams and will make the competition more open. The championship this December should be interesting after the departure of Texas and Oklahoma. Check out the Baylor Bear’s schedule below.
Team Overview from 2023
Baylor finished the 2023 season 3-9 and went 2-7 in conference. This season went every way but right for the Bears. They put up 377 yards on average per game offensively with only 144 of those being the run game. The problem was that they let their opponents put up 420 yards. This team must fix the defense to compete and win games in the Big 12.
Schedule
Tarleton State
Tarleton State has probably taken on Baylor before in football but I couldn’t find any information on it. The Bears are predicted to take the victory and start the season 1-0.
Utah non-conference
Baylor has taken on Utah once before and the Utes won that game 20-13. In this game, Baylor is predicted to lose. They will play this matchup as a nonconference as previously scheduled before the conference shake-up.
Air Force
This game was last played in 2022 and Air Force won it 30-15. The game will be only the second matchup between these two schools on the football field. Early predictions are that the Bears will lose this game and be 1-2 on the year.
Colorado
The first conference game for the Bears in 2024 will be against Colorado. They have played a total of 16 times before and Baylor won the last one in 2010 31-25. In this game, Baylor will also lose and have a losing record.
BYU
Baylor has taken on BYU four times over the years. The last time BYU beat them 26-20 in 2022. This time around they will win this game and untie the series. It will be only the second win for the Bears in 2024.
Iowa State
These two played last year and Iowa State won 30-18. This matchup has been played over 20 times and Baylor has won more of those games. It is predicted that the Bears will lose this game and be at 2-5.
Texas Tech
Last season these two played and the Red Raiders won 39-14. This game has been played 82 times and Baylor has won 40 of those games and there is one that was finished in a tie.
Oklahoma State
This matchup is always an exciting one. Last year it was played in Waco, Texas and the Cowboys came home with the win 36-25 over the Bears. The series has been played over 40 times and this time the Bears are predicted to lose this matchup.
TCU
The Horned Frogs will take on the Bears once again this year. TCU won last year 42-17 with this adding to the 119 matchups. Baylor is predicted to lose this game and be 2-7 on the season.
WVU
West Virginia vs Baylor is always a great matchup and has some big plays every year. Last season was no different when West Virginia won 34-31. This year won’t be any different when they are in Morgantown. This game will also be a loss for this season.
Houston
Baylor will take on Houston again this season and will see the same outcome when they lose again. Last year Houston won 25-24 and added to their 30 matchups over the years.
Kansas
Kansas takes on Baylor to finish out the 2024 season. The last time these two played Baylor won 35-23 and have played over 22 times. Early Prediction is that the Bears will lose this game and end the season 2-10.
