Ben Bywater has announced that he is done for the season with a Shoulder injury. He has to undergo surgery to resolve the issue and deal with some nerve issues. Bywater has been out since the Kansas game where he left early due to this injury.
Ben Bywater is a 6-3 235 lbs junior from Salt Lake City, Utah. His first season he had eight tackles. The next season he had seven tackles. Bywater’s third season he had 102 tackles, one sack, and one quarterback hit. Last season he had 98 tackles, one sack, three interceptions, one touchdown, and two pass break ups. This season he put 32 tackles and one sack for this BYU team.
This is a blow to the cougar defense as they look to bounce back after a loss to TCU. Ben Bywater is a leader and has led the defense in tackles this season. His shoes will be hard to fill by anyone. The Cougar fans have seen Harrison Taggart step into that role and try but he will have to step up farther in order to help this Cougar defense out.
The Cougar defense is going to be without him for the rest of the season. Harrison Taggart will most likely take over at Linebacker for him and hopefully in the process develop into a great linebacker.
